Eibach Pro-Kit with standard dampers
Hello all,
Just wondering what the experiences are of others amongst the forum, who run the Eibach lowering springs on the OEM dampers? This is what I am running currently and seems to be doing ok, I have paired these with 235/40R18 tyres and custom fast road geometry. Overall car feels sportier than standard.
Is there merit to be had to pairing these with the Bilstein B6/B8 dampers.
Also does the above suggestion of Pro-kit springs plus B6/B8 dampers bear in a similarities to the setup found on the PZ version?
Toby

Re: Eibach Pro-Kit with standard dampers
Personally I loved the using the lower springs and the b8's together. I cant think of anything better if you do not want to go coilover.
H&R springs do not feel as good as the Eibach IMO but will lower the car a little bit more.
If you can find a nice set of MeisterR Zeta R's or similar going second hand, you wont look back

Eibach pro kit (springs and dampers)
Eibach B8's with H&R 45mm lowering springs:
MeisterR Zeta R's (& every suspensions and driveline component changed, so your's may vary as nothing is stock on this)

Re: Eibach Pro-Kit with standard dampers
I’m looking into going back to stock Shocks and 25mm lowering springs. Which means in the near future I’ll have a full set of Meister coilovers up for grabs if you’re interested.

Definitely keep me posted. If you don't mind me asking, why are you going back to just the lowering springs?Humane-Hobgoblin wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 3:27 pmI’m looking into going back to stock Shocks and 25mm lowering springs. Re: Eibach Pro-Kit with standard dampers
Just coilovers aren’t for me, where I park my car at home is down an awkward camber and the wheels rub the arches a smidge, I’m not tracking the car so I don’t see the point in having them fitted Missus and I go for lots of drives on weekends and it’s just not comfortable really.Django91 wrote:Definitely keep me posted. Re: Eibach Pro-Kit with standard dampers
Cheers bro,
running 5mm all round, although compared to stock its more like 10mm as the brake discs are ticker in the last picture
stock setup was:
front wheels: 19x8.5j, 42mm offset, 5mm spacer
rear wheels: 19x9.5j, 42mm offset, 5mm spacer
I will be swapping these wheels out for a set of TE37's soon, these come in 38mm offset which is absolutely bang on, you wont even need a 5mm spacer with that

Re: Eibach Pro-Kit with standard dampers
Interesting, arent they supposed to be adjustable for height and damping?Humane-Hobgoblin wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 4:47 pmJust coilovers aren’t for me, where I park my car at home is down an awkward camber and the wheels rub the arches a smidge, I’m not tracking the car so I don’t see the point in having them fitted Missus and I go for lots of drives on weekends and it’s just not comfortable really.Django91 wrote:Definitely keep me posted. Re: Eibach Pro-Kit with standard dampers
Yeah they are, I’ve got them set for full height and I’ve softened them 3 clicks, but with the stock tyre size and 25mm spacers, they rub ever so slightly. Annoyingly, I love how the car sits with them.Django91 wrote:Interesting, arent they supposed to be adjustable for height and damping?Humane-Hobgoblin wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 4:47 pmJust coilovers aren’t for me, where I park my car at home is down an awkward camber and the wheels rub the arches a smidge, I’m not tracking the car so I don’t see the point in having them fitted Missus and I go for lots of drives on weekends and it’s just not comfortable really.Django91 wrote: Definitely keep me posted. Re: Eibach Pro-Kit with standard dampers
Looks sweet with those spacers! I would like to preserve the smooth ride quality of the rx8, so if the meisters are too stiff might be an issue, but I'm guessing it can be softened further?. I am thinking of going 10mm spacers all around.Humane-Hobgoblin wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 4:53 pmYeah they are, I’ve got them set for full height and I’ve softened them 3 clicks, but with the stock tyre size and 25mm spacers, they rub ever so slightly. Oh I’d expect them to go softer still! I kind of panic bought the coilovers in all fairness

Either of you guys got a set of Racing Beat roll bars? I'm really keen on putting those on my car!

If you go to a slightly lower profile tyre, you could probably get rid of the rubbing issue!Humane-Hobgoblin wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 4:59 pmOh I’d expect them to go softer still! I kind of panic bought the coilovers in all fairness

Nope for the ARBs!
I’m looking at 235/40s, I’m running stock tyre size at the moment.

I am running the new Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport in that size, was on Vredestein Sessantas in OEM size before. Feels very different!Humane-Hobgoblin wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 5:05 pmDjango91 wrote:If you go to a slightly lower profile tyre, you could probably get rid of the rubbing issue!Humane-Hobgoblin wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 4:59 pmOh I’d expect them to go softer still! At the moment I’m running Avon ZZ5s on the rear, at £100 a corner I’m probably gonna go with those againDjango91 wrote:I am running the new Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport in that size, was on Vredestein Sessantas in OEM size before. Tyres are around 30 quid a piece cheaper in 235/40R18 size, so you could get something more premium for 100 quid a piece if you so desireHumane-Hobgoblin wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 5:17 pmAt the moment I’m running Avon ZZ5s on the rear, at £100 a corner I’m probably gonna go with those againDjango91 wrote:I am running the new Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport in that size, was on Vredestein Sessantas in OEM size before. Well, I’ll see how the OEM tyres fit on the new suspension when it happens and go from there I think!Django91 wrote:Tyres are around 30 quid a piece cheaper in 235/40R18 size, so you could get something more premium for 100 quid a piece if you so desireHumane-Hobgoblin wrote: ↑Tue Sep 10, 2019 5:17 pmAt the moment I’m running Avon ZZ5s on the rear, at £100 a corner I’m probably gonna go with those againDjango91 wrote: I am running the new Goodyear Eagle F1 Supersport in that size, was on Vredestein Sessantas in OEM size before.
