Car Covers...

Post by Dr. FrankenRex »

Hey you lovely lot.

I'm putting Frank away for the winter in a week or so and wondered what (if any) people are using for indoor car covers on their 8s?

As said, it'll be indoors, so doesn't need to be heavy or waterproof but something to keep the bird sh*t off it and the dust would be good... budget is ~£100 :thumleft:

Could do, just thinking more of a fitted car cover

I've been humming and hawing about getting one for my 8 as well, indoor/outdoor seems to make little difference in price.

There are loads of non-waterproof but breathable options available for ~£30/50, like this one.

If you want something for inside I think that'd do you. If it's not getting soaked every day then you won't have to be concerned with the waterproofing, and it being breathable means no condensation/mould growing

Last year I threw a light indoor car cover over my Alfa, just to keep the dust and grit off.

After three months, over winter, despite having a dehumidifier in the garage, the Alfa had mould on the roof liner and the parcel shelf.

The RX-8, that's sits alongside, without a cover, had some dust on the paintwork but no mould inside.

I've got one of these for my TVR and am considering on for the RX8 for this winter. I've not had problems with mould but my garage is dry

If she's indoors Dan why not throw an old bed sheet over it and save yourself 100 quid, you could then use a third of that and become a member again ;)

You do know from here on in anything you post will have a member connatation attached to it

That's fine, just as long as you know that anything I post will have restrictive connotations attached ;)
