RX8 Brake Master Cylinder

Post by Timmy2 »

Hi all
Anyone found a supplier for a brake Master Cylinder,I've overhauled the rest of the brake system and have now found my MS is leaking.
I can only find new genuine from Mazda £305.00 plus VAT
I'm not keen to fit a repair kit as knowing my luck the cylinder bore is bound to be scored.

Cheers tim

What year is the car? The master cylinder design was changed in 2006, with very different pipework layout
The easiest way to tell is the early ones have a bled nipple, the later one's don't.

The PZ was launched in '06 and I have seen a couple of PZ's with the early unit fitted.

Post/PM your VIN and I can check the Mazda database to be sure.

I've ordered a new one now I should get it by the end of the month
There is plenty of other work I still need to do to get it track ready so it wont hold me up.
Many thanks to all for your replies

just to add to the confusion, i now own 2 2005 231’s. my track car has the later master, the VR has the early one... built within a couple of months of each other..
