Quick question for someone who has an rx-8 engine sat on the floor (hopefully)... what is the height from the bottom of the sump to the top of the inlet manifold?
Trying to work out if I can fit one in my Westfield without chopping up my bonnet! Seen it twice so far and both have had to modify but I don't run the same bonnet so might, might get lucky

Re: Engine height
See here 170 pages by Jon (boosted) on his Westy which is now up for sale.

Should go into depth about the trials and tribulations of his conversion. A good read if you have the time.

Now a distant memory unfortunately.

Re: Engine height
I've not read that thread, but followed the one on locostbuilders and here of course. Jon's is a narrow body and mine is a wide. I've been following another wide on facebook that's now turbocharged and that's had to do some bonnet meddling. However mine is running a different bonnet (flip front rather than lift off) so I'm intrigued as to whether I'll be chopping that up or not. It's an expensive bit of fibreglass!

Re: Engine height
I should, of course, add that this Westfield is pretty much the inspiration for even considering converting mine, let alone doing it!
