Literally sitting in a monster traffic jam atm and there's a Nissan leaf in the opposite lane and I'm wondering who's sh*t themselves more
Will he run out of charge before I run out of fuel
Funny and ironic

His car doesn't use battery when sat in traffic.
There's no idling in a leccy car.
Infact, he's probably getting better range in stop-start traffic than if it were free flowing at 70mph.

What makes leccy car drivers sh*t themselves are signs saying:

Wasn't aware that there is no idle in an electric car. ( just goes to show how much interest I have in the things) one more reason to detest them...

Re: Funny and ironic
Well the motor is still powered, so is the AC, stereo, and other systems. So it does use power when stationary... just verrrry little.
It's like you saw my panicked drive home from London last week! Had to turn the heater off for the last 20 miles the battery ran so lowRotary Potato wrote: ↑Thu May 23, 2019 6:53 pmWhat makes leccy car drivers sh*t themselves are signs saying:

Re: Funny and ironic
Fun fact cos I know you're interested in how stuff works: The Renault Zoe uses a 'motorhome-esque' heat pump to compress air coming into the car to warm it up. Renault claim it's much more efficient than the usual method.
Second fun fact: The Zoe heater is lousy at actually heating the car!
