Re: Seriously?!!
Yup, pretty optimistic! Has been on there for a good few months now.
Though in fairness, there was a Crystal White one with really low miles (13k or something ) that was advertised at £8995 a few months back and that sold pretty quickly.

Re: Seriously?!!
Setting aside the "it's only worth what the market will pay", I think that's probably where nice R3s should be, compared to similar cars. Optimistic? Yes. But not unrealistic. The market will only start to move upwards when sellers decide to ask for more, and hold on until they get it. I think that is what this dealer is doing. Nothing wrong with that.

Re: Seriously?!!
That's how many dealers operate, especially with non-mainstream cars.
There were a couple of dealers in south Essex that would tag-team if they both had similar cars in stock.
For any given model, one would put an extortionate screen price while the other would put a price that was only 20% over book.
Anyone that was looking for a car in the area would assume that the cheaper car was a bargain.

Don`t forget "Multi-point inspection by Mazda trained technicians"
A recent review:
Attempted to implement a recall on a potential fuel leak on an rx8 four times before succeeding. Gave me back my car with a serious fuel leak on two occasions. Incredibly low standard of work. Go elsewhere.

Re: Seriously?!!
While I think of it, some ebay sellers have (had) multiple accounts and do exactly the same thing to make one listing appear "cheap" by having many other listings at silly prices. ToyoSports used to do this for their exhaust products, until ebay closed-down their other accounts.warpc0il wrote: ↑Sun Apr 21, 2019 11:03 am

Many sellers, including ToyoSports, will up their prices to something stupid when they're out-of-stock. This is because it's cheaper for them to keep a listing running than to withdraw it and re-list when the item is back in stock.
This is why you'll sometimes see a Toyo catback listed @ £799 (or more). Occasionally they'll drop that price down to "only" £499 for a few days when the stock arrives, just in case someone is desperate, before it goes back down to something more reasonable.
Back to the specifics of this thread, anything is worth what anyone is prepared to pay.
At least with an auction it takes two bidders to bump the price up above the expected market value but "Buy It Now - With Best Offer" whether on-line or on a forecourt only takes one idiot

Re: Seriously?!!
As a seller on Ebay, I think they do this also because when you end a listing, you also lose the purchase history 'sold X amount', 100% buyer satisfaction and product feedback link (see feedback), if it gained those. This effects sales as people are more confident to buy if they can see others are buying it and are happy.
