That’s impressive work, especially around the rim.

I have seen in Russian rotary community where some workshops doing same re-chrome stuff which looks identical to instagram images in first post, but then heard feedback from people who done that, where that re-chrome layer came off in peaces and destroyed engine within 10-15k miles, so I wouldn't 100% trust those non-factory re-chrome, but who knows and maybe here the way of doing it is way different and it is actually makes those housing exactly like factory new :D

Yeah at this point I wouldn't put money on them lasting as long as factory housings... but evidently, they have, and I hope it pays off for them.

They're not commercially available yet so we'll have to see what happens in testing - which I believe has been happening for about a year already in some form.

The chroming Mazda did is not just any old chroming. It has a porous structure to hold oil.

(If anyone has a sample of the original Mazda housing I could get it analysed to find out exactly what it looks like).

How does this compare to the resurfacing using Cermet Coatings as offered by REC Services in the states?

I *thought* they were only offering cermet coating on the irons (flat end plates) not the rotor housings - but I could be wrong or out-of-date.

Hi Dave, you had me thinking there just checked and they seem to do the running faces as well now.
They also offer Chrome plating but if we can get that here from the forum then that's a better option.
