Interior Lights Flickering
Any idea why all my interior lights flicker.. most are LEDs (fitted by previous owner) but they constantly flicker.. I’ve tried replacing some with better quality LED lights but they still flicker.
Is it the fact they are LED’s or is the power constantly fluctuating?

Re: Interior Lights Flickering
Didn't HRWR0K whatever the heck he's called (sorry ) find that the dimmer switch uses an "on / off" logic, that is not visible with filament bulbs, but can be visable with LEDs?
I don't think there is a fix, apart from fitting filament bulbs.

Re: Interior Lights Flickering
LED's use pwm to turn the lights on and off hundreds of times a second and some people are more susceptible to it than others, I don't mind the LED's I've got in my lounge but my gf hates them as she says that they flicker, I can't notice any difference.
I've tried a few different cheap LED bulbs in the car and I've got cheap ones in the doorcards and boot but I paid a bit more and got Osram's for the two main interior lights and the dome light as the cheaper ones flickered to much for my gf, you can see the difference as the cheap LED's would flicker when the lights were about to go off whereas these ones dim like filament bulbs.
Might be worth a go https://www.osram.com/am/ecat/LEDriving ... P_1072056/

Re: Interior Lights Flickering
I used Ring leds they flickered, but only when dimming. They were fine at normal brightness
I have swapped them out with leds from strike a light, they don't flicker when dimming or when on permanently, pretty cheap £18 I think for all interior and puddle lights in purple.

Re: Interior Lights Flickering
Wait until the weather warms up, unless you've got a heated garage.
Attempting to replace the wing mirror lights in the cold is asking for broken lugs/fingers

Do you have to remove the back covers? Or the mirror glass itself?warpc0il wrote:Wait until the weather warms up, unless you've got a heated garage.

Re: Interior Lights Flickering
Mirror glass is removed, you have 3 ball and sockets that have to be disengaged (if I remember correctly) , as above it is best to replace them when the plastic is warm as it is more forgiving, so you have a few options, heated garage, warm weather, warm air and finally warm water to soften the plastic a little.

^This. It's all about refresh rate (or frequency), and that of the lights matching that of your eyes.untakenname wrote: ↑Sun Jan 06, 2019 9:25 pmLED's use pwm to turn the lights on and off hundreds of times a second and some people are more susceptible to it than others, I don't mind the LED's I've got in my lounge but my gf hates them as she says that they flicker, I can't notice any difference.
I have this problem with the LEDs Finnair use in their aircraft. When they dim the cabin lights for a nighttime landing the entire cabin lighting flickers to my eyes, drives me mad. I once complained to the cabin crew and asked how they put up with it. Their response was that they can't see it
My door LEDs flicker, when they are dimming. But I put up with it as the dome ones are switched off most of the time.

Re: Interior Lights Flickering
The flickering isn’t that fast flicker you get when strobing it’s very slow like half a second between on/off states.
