Looking for coilovers, are HSD monotube any good?

Post by PaulAV »

As per the tittle, has anyone fitted HSD monotube suspension? They are in my budget (looking around £700ish) so in the running are meister R, Tein and upper end of limit BC. I don't do track days but do enjoy spirited country roads and the car is a daily driver.

You'd be much better fitting a set of PZ shocks & springs, unless the car has been significantly lightened.

I presume you mean their Monopro setup?

Yeah they're good but probably overkill if you're not doing track stuff and maybe a little harsh for a daily.
If you do go for them then probably go for the 8kg/6kg springs rather than 10kg/9kg.

I have Meisters on my car and they are comfortable for every day use and easily adjust for track days. With the adjuster extensions you can refit the boot trim and just have the small knob showing

I purchase them from maisters direct and they are 859 plus 25 for extensions I’m open to offer but as stated still brand new in box never fitted and will be delivered by me to your door in Coventry as I’m looking close to normal price but still discounted to minimise my lost

My R3 isn't a daily, nor is it tracked, and I only wanted coilovers simply to get stance

Tein Street Basics are doing a great job,and the car's handling hasn't been 'ruined' as I was once told it would be..
