It was this YouTube video which finally convinced me to buy an RX8, thanks Jason.

I haven't moved my number plate right in front of the air intake though.

The Top Gear film from the original launch was ok, too.

I've been active on this forum for over ten years and have never heard of any RX8 "having water in the headlights that has blown the electrics"
That sounds like some fake news that someone has made up, just to see if they can get it on the telly

Yep, that's the brooksticks' claim to fame. Still have the car and had her for 13 years. I'm a big Jason Plato fan and told him to drive it like he stole it, so he did.

Eeeerrrrr no, LOL. I actually didn't have a number plate at all for many years, however, got caught this year by Cheshire's finest rozzers outsight Oulton Park, so had to put it back on but it's not straight

My company has provided production support for a few FIVE productions. Pay for researchers? They don't do that... or anything properly

At least Jason was 'generous' with the RX8 horsepower, so the nonsense worked both ways.

It really bugs me when people/reviewers compare the RX8 with 2 seater cars rather than 4 seater saloons. Even in a 'sports' category. Happens all the time. Even worse than when it's compared in any way to the RX7

Different types of cars - different intended roles. Notice that Jason's road test didn't involve heading to a track day after taking his own and the neighbours kids to school, or the elderly parents home after a family dinner. That's daily usage. The 8 does those things great, the Z4 and Boxster... hmmm.

Reason it's compared to two seater cars is that she's a coupe that just happens to have four seats and four doors but in the coupe segment nonetheless.TBH I think the only people that might compare the 8 to the 7 are people who aren't really in the know about both cars hence they presume that since the 8 was made after the 7 that somehow they are comparable.....they aint!!

Good point, I'll allow it to be compared to coupes without getting in a rage then. But 2 seaters with their shorter wheelbase are still out

yeah somehow the 8 seems to be compared to the S2000 a lot and I don't really know why The only thing they have in common is 9K revs,that and they are both jap cars,oh and RWD....hang on....

Yeah, I had an Alfa that used 1L per 1000miles and the garage reckoned that was 'Normal'. But I've seen another YouTube video that reckons it's more like 500ml per 1000miles, and that's more like what I see on mine.
