D585s have slightly different timings to the stock coils, so getting your ignition timing remapped can actually make them perform slightly better. As I understand it most people don't actually bother, so it doesn't seem to be vital. Just thought I'd mention it!
Carl Ryan (Ryan Rotary on here) does remote mapping which looks like a great way if you do want to do it.

Just to be clear, the D585 coils use the same ignition timing, in that the spark happens at the same time for combustion, as the original coils.

The difference is that the D585 coils can take longer to reach full charge between discharges, which is known as "dwell" - a term that goes back to when ignition coils were connected via mechanical switches "points" that were opened and closed by a cam. The "dwell angle" of the cam determined how long the points stayed closed (allowing the coil to charge) before they opened and the coil fired the plug(s).

Even with PCM-controlled ignition, the time for the coils to charge is referred to as "the dwell".

Increasing the PCM dwell parameter will ensure that D585 coils are fully charged.
However, the standard dwell will charge the D585 coils more than sufficiently to run the engine happily, and may even give them a slightly easier life.
If you do adjust the dwell then you can't revert back to the original coils, even for fault-finding, without risking burning the coils.

If they are genuine Lucas then they should be OK but you need to be buying from an appointed Lucas distributor not just from an eBay seller.
You really are safest buying from a trader on here and paying a bit more for the parts that bought cheap can easily cause your engine to fail.

I won't touch Lucas-branded coils, regardless of the source.
