front seat removal.
evening all ,i want to remove my front seats at the weekend to give everything a good clean. just wondering whether doing so will throw up any issues when i disconnect the wiring ie ecu or airbag trouble,or will it be as simple as unplug ,clean and plug back in . any tips? thanks ,rob.

Re: front seat removal.
Yes it’s a simple job just disconnect and reconnect
Move the seats back and forward for ease of bolt acces.
Regards
Pete

Re: front seat removal.
Best to disconnect the battery for a few minutes beforehand as well.
I've neglected to many times without dying but, y'know. Airbags are pretty cool if they go off.

If this was PeteH he would refute this statement and say they cannot be cool as deploying generates heat.
Now a distant memory unfortunately.

Re: front seat removal.
Be prepared to pull a muscle or two and be vary careful not to damage the centre console or the door trims.
Front seats are much heavier than you'd expect, especially the drivers seat and the edges of the rails are sharp and stick out.
I've not known anyone remove the seats just "to give everything a good clean".
You may also find that you have ongoing problems with the airbag system, having disturbed the connections.

Re: front seat removal.
I remove seats "just to clean" a couple of times a year - giving me a complex now though... But yeah, I'm surprised it's not a more regular thing, all that crud you can't get to between the seat runners... *shudders*
Haven't done the R3 though. My old Pulsar was so easy it was more regular. The neighbour walked out one day, stared at me vacuuming the now vacant of seats cabin and said "That's a bit extreme isn't it?". Not really love...

Re: front seat removal.
The place where I used to work, whenever they had a car in to sell on, all seats and sometimes more would come out to give things a proper clean.
