What goes in that hole!?
OK so I've owned 3 RX8's over the years. A 2007 bought new, blew the engine. A 2006 the wife made me sell versus a large engine rebuild cost. Now, my beloved 40th that is my pride and joy. To say I love this car more than my wife and children would be an understatement!
Anywhosel....in the trunk (or boot, depending on preference) on the rear facia and above the tire change tool kit there is a recess, a rectangluar hole with 2 small retaining staps (click straps).
Something should be there but I'll be damned if I can find any reference in the manual or online.
It looks large enough to be a place to hold those silly warning triangle in a kit, but I cannot find a refernce to that if it exisits.
All three of my RX8's had this and all three whatever was supposed to be there, was missing.
Does anyone have a clue?
Photos and/or part numbers would be great!
Thanks!

Re: What goes in that hole!?
Thanks warpc0il, I thought it might be that. But why is there nothing referencing this in the manual or parts book?
Don't suppose you'd know where to get one that fits that hole/recess?
Dazza44 yeah the tire inflater kits sits next to the right-rear wheel well in it's own strap. FYI the MX5 kit fits that space perfectly, even though its a fabric case and not the nice hard plastic one.

All good and extremely rare 40th Anniversary owners should find its a perfect place to keep a Golf umbrella in the straps.

I have one of those fancy shmancy triangles in the boot of my R3 - and I don't, for once, mean rotors!

I find when dealing with the "internet" in general, a certain degree of guttural thinking generally provides quicker results!
But I'd have to agree with you!

Re: What goes in that hole!?
On my first bike trip to Europe, back before the internet had been invented, we all read somewhere we needed triangles as part of our kit to avoid upsetting the French police.
We must have looked like a right bunch of plums with these red boxes strapped to the back of our bikes. Needless to say on returning from France, mine was hidden away in my parents shed never to see the light of day again. Well, until I bought my wife an RX8 for her 50th and found the perfect place to store that little red box.
