New RX8 owner in Gloucestershire - Hello!

Post by bluejmc2005 »

Morning all,

So yesterday evening I bought a 231 winning blue RX8 - always admired them from afar, and have now made the jump! I intend to do approx 70 miles a week in it, so the poor fuel consumption isn't TOO much of an issue!
I have ordered a coil and spark plug set from amazon - the car has done 61k miles and no history of these being changed - and I have put out a job request on "who can fix my car" as I don't fancy changing them myself (time and ability!) The tyres are low, so will put new ones on eventually (any recommendations appreciated for garages and/or tyres!)

The previous owner told me to make sure i don't touch the gas prior to starting the car as that can cause flooding, and to rev to 4k roughly just before switching it off. He had the car for 2 years and covered approx 8k miles in that timee. Was a stonking nice bloke too!

anyhow any advice, feedback etc appreciated, and just wanted to say hi!

Hello Jason,
Suprised nobody else has added this but..
Cancel the amazon coils and buy from a trusted trader on here.
Don't rev to 4000 before shutting down. That is only if you have no option but to shut down a cold engine.
