So now to break these down, could we put the coils down to the cyclinder 1 misfire?
And would excess air be because the panel filter is in the house drying atm because of wash? The rest i havent got a clue
Also thanks dazza for the superfast response mate 😊

You really should join the Club. All the interactive service manuals will then become available to you. They will tell you exactly what the codes are, what they mean, and guide you through how to fault find from the codes. It will make your life so much easier....

Listen .. the fee will be recouped easily with Member trader discounts, for example on the coils etc., and anyway you don't get everything for free as a Guest, hence only around three quarters of the forum topics are available to you, including the one you really need the Tech stuff!

No probs. We try to be a friendly Club, and we are always happy to help guests if we can. I think the point being made is that the only places you will be able to guarantee getting genuine coils from are the Traders who are signed up to the Club as trusted Traders, and these give significant discounts. So if you order the coils from one of our Trusted traders then the member discount will probably pay for your membership (effectively free membership!). And if you order the coils from another source you are taking a risk of ordering fake coils.

If this sounds over-dramatic, one of our members has only recently put up a photo of fake coils he found that had been fitted by quite a big rotary company which you may think you could have trusted. That company is not one of the Club's trusted Traders.....

interesting comments on this thread, i have just checked membership fee,a mere 31 quid. how much were your ecp coils and will you be reimbursed? perhaps with full access you may never have bought them in the first place. as i recall,it was only after seeking advice freely given on here that saved you from a potential disaster . when put like that,31quid seems a very small price to pay for the ammount of info available to us.

combination of an air / vacuum leak and a misfire on rotor 1 then

do the usual replace coils, plugs and leads with good gear( avoid pattern coils like the plague) and check over the inlet manifold post MAF for leaks, crakced rubbers etc

Just a thought in the coils i know you menthioned about the 585s, but if finds are a little tight you can allways get
A set of RRP coils(ryan rotary performance) that come with a lifetime warranty
Or
Genuine mazda c coils( MRP) mazdarotaryparts
Either of the above fully trusted and traders on here
And if you was a member you would get discount.

i have been called a cult before. this is not a vendetta, just some well meaning members pointing out the benefits of membership. they are asking for our best advice and on this occasion this is the best advice some of us novices can give them . :thumleft:

Geeeeeesssssssssss guys come down off your high horse πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ im geting the coils as advised, im also going to become a member god as my witness lol!!! Just one before the other and i prioritise the coils first then membership second if i was working these last few weeks id done both hands down but as mentioned on sh*t sick pay atm and awaiting operation in a few weeks, im very appreciated of the advice and have duely noted, the money for euro crap parts is going back to the dragon towards the new coils as she was ever so nice, no... tidy enough to throw a lending hand or wing πŸ˜‚ to help me out for time being which im bloody gobsmacked with! No im off to dig up some coal πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

P0420 is the code that's triggered by running a decat pipe...usually when cruising for extended periods at a constant speed :thumright:

Well ive worked out the coils for the misfire which will be next weeks job i got a brand new upgraded fuel pump to be fitted, then ive worked out it could be a O2 sensor but which one i dont know so il take two off and clean them i know one is more than the other, also going to fit a new air filter, the maf sensor is loose so going to try bigger screws in that hen disconnect battery and brake pump 20 times then leave to idle and see what codes if any left

The maf sensor doesnt screw in that tight anyway, make sure its got the the rubber o ring gasket onit and that its not damaged or damage it when putting in back on,abit of Vaseline round it helps when putting it back on,and dont forget to clear the fault codes.
