Some electrical cleaning sprays contain oils. Need to be very careful.

Stick to a specified MAF cleaner mate. As delta said. Especially if you're troubleshooting is best to play it safe.
This one's good and a tenner delivered on eBay: https://ebay.us/GgGgQr
(It's even shipped from Glasgow :D )

I bathed mine in IPA, the residue will evaporate so better than contact cleaner imo.

 Clicky here for details

Says it protects against rust which would suggest it contains some sort of oil :ncool:

 This is what I used on the MAF

BTW the MAF is right down inside the bottom of the black plastic tube - the sensor you see on the outside is the IAT (Intake Air Temperature) sensor - that can be cleaned as well though :thumleft:

Thanks chaps :thumright:

Oh dear I hope the stuff I got is ok if not is my own fault.

And many thanks warpcOil for the link I'll have a read shortly.

It's this low speed pulling away and driving, it's very jerky/juddery make me looks like a bloody learner

I've code po171 but will talk to the mech I use tomorrow or Wed as his machines a lot better than the noddy one I've got and may well pin point more accurate what it is.
