RX8 PZ Centre Caps
Hi guys, so recently I became the owner of a Galaxy Grey PZ and after a quick drive last night ive lost one of my centre caps and I need some to replace it with. After doing abit of research it seems Mazda discontinued them and finding some for sale is quite difficult so after looking on Ebay ive found the O.Z stick on badges but there are two types ive come across:
One has the "Prodrive by O.Z" logo but the font and carbon finish is not like the genuine ones and the others have just "O.Z" but look alot like the ones that are on the wheels now.
So does anyone know where i can get some stick on badges that look like the genuine centre caps so i can just stick them onto some plain ones and take off the remaining 3 that are on the car now.
Thanks in Advance

Hi and Mohuss. Sorry, I don't know where you can get any stick on badges - however a quick look around threw up some flat caps you can use when you do find stickers if you don't already have some https://www.amazon.co.uk/Alloy-Centre-R ... B00GW4F75G

Thanks mate, ive already found some caps that im gonna buy as theyre the right size etc., i might just get the plain O.Z ones as they have a better carbon effect i guess and they do look slightly better, thanks for the help but im still open for suggestions if anyone finds any decent caps for sale

These stick-ons are really good but I never managed to find "standard" wheel caps of any size to fit.
Your milage may vary of course and if you've found some I'd be really interested to know where.
The caps that do fit have a code "M582" which if you put into eBay will bring up some examples but not the exact same design:

(as well as a load of other stuff...)

Re: RX8 PZ Centre Caps
The Gel whell centres you have linked me are the ones ive bought now it was just the carbon effect on the back that wasnt the same but beggars cant be choosers i guess. As for the centre caps themselves ive bought these ones, they were linked by a member when I initially searched for them on the forum so i presumed they were right for the job.EdSpur wrote:http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Prodrive-by-O ... Re: RX8 PZ Centre Caps
Will be interested to know if they fit. They look a bit too high to me (the 11.88 measurement). The originals are quite a low profile but I guess other shapes can fit.Mohuss wrote:The Gel whell centres you have linked me are the ones ive bought now it was just the carbon effect on the back that wasnt the same but beggars cant be choosers i guess. Re: RX8 PZ Centre Caps
Hi,
I’ve just bought a PZ that I collect this Thursday....its centre caps have seen better days! So I am going to order some gel stickers and was wondering if the centre caps you bought to go with them fitted in the end?
Cheers,
Carl...

Re: RX8 PZ Centre Caps
The gel stickers were spot on but the caps that were recommended on this thread werent the correct ones. I havent really looked again since buying the wrong size ones since the car has been off the road since summer. I just took them all off and went without themcarl355m wrote:Hi,

I appear to have acquired some rocking horse sh1t.
Will be for sale shortly (once I've worked out if they need to go on the pz wheels in order to sell them)

Re: RX8 PZ Centre Caps
Those 3 have gone, got another 2 that have been offered to someone as a first refusal, should hear back in the next couple of days whether they'll be available.
All gone now.

Re: RX8 PZ Centre Caps
After seeing how much new PZ caps cost I tried repairing my battered center caps, they looked noticeably shabby after I refurbed my wheels.
Thought I'd post up the steps as it took less than half an hour and came out pretty well imo.
Original cap Sanded back the edges with 120 grit, you can go through the first layer until the whiteness is gone when using wet and dry, it goes back to white and cloudy when it dries.
Put on some clearcoat heavy at 90 degrees so it hits the side, soaks underneath and into the cap and after a few minutes any remaining cloudiness goes away
From a distance they look pretty good, it's only when your right up close you can see the minor imperfections

Re: RX8 PZ Centre Caps
Hi, yep I used VHT anodised color coat spray paint, worked really well.
I took that pic late in the day when the light was going, it's actually red in colour, did the V Crest and lights as well as the strakes
