PZ Limited Edition Numbers, THE LIST

Post by deanbayley »

I'm in the process of trying to figure out the limited edition numbering for the PZ, if anyone has a VIN number that starts something different to:

JMZSE173600141

The last three digits are missing above btw.

Please can you tell me whats different.

There isn't, this has been looked into before
If my memory serves me correct
Prodrive were just given a number of cars that they converted. The VIN tags were not sequential and no records were kept

The vin tags do indeed seem to be sequential..

I've looked up 15 different ones so far from JMZSE173600141140 to JMZSE173600141999

And they were ALL PZ's

Yeah I'm currently wiring a script that will download all the data and put it into a spreadsheet..

After many hours of coding the script is now running, I'll let everyone once it's finished, I wrote it to fetch the details of every vin from JMZSE173600141130 to JMZSE173600141999

I've set a 5 second delay between requests just incase the website has a requests per minute limit so it should take about 90 mins to complete..

If anyone has a PZ with a vin outside this range please let me know..

I have two Pz's, both are within the vin number range you listed. (Pm you)
Was one of the original cars used to develop the Pz's (the first Pz) not up for sale on here a while back? Is that where you got the starting pz vin number from?

Right out of the 779 that were registered in the UK i've got 775, the missing 4 have likely been mis-registered as PS's or something but i'm happy to call my list comprehensive.

The script i wrote has fetched every vin from JMZSE173600141000 to JMZSE173600142999 (2000 vin numbers).

I have ordered the list by VIN as that seems to be the most logical way.

here it is:

This is great. It's a fantastic resource. Thanks Dean for all the effort that's gone into it. I suspect neither Mazda nor Prodrive know this level of detail. I hope this list can be made permanent somehow. Don't get me wrong Dean, I hope you stick around on here, but people do come and go, and it would be a shame if your list disappeared into the ether..... :(

It would also be good if the list could have an extra field to record if the car is known to have been scrapped (don't know if this leads to issues with cloning or not? :-k )

'Tis great work Dean, I've taken a copy of the info for a spreadsheet if that's cool.

What's next then, Evolve? :D
