Saw two this afternoon within the space of a less than a minure, one Kuro going through elmers end roundabout then a silver one parked up on the road leading up to the roundabout.

Driving to Ringwood today, saw a black S1 parked up on the road, and the other day wasn’t my reflection, unless my car magically changed colour!

Pretty much on a daily basics I spot one or two rx8 now around E/Sussex. Usually only if I happen to be out during business hours though, no morning or evening commute spots. So I’m guessing it’s a case of second/weekend car use people mainly have them for these days.

Locally I’ve noticed the same three red, two of them being women drivers, two black 8’s and one blue pretty much on a weekly basics if I’m around during day peak times.

That's because there are still three times as many RX8s on the road even now as there are GT86s.

In the Netherlands you will see the RX-8 only twice a year......
There is now 1 RX-8 per 87.000 Dutch citizens present.....(17 mill. inhabitants)
Because there were sold totally 329 units and today/end 2017 only approx. 195 units have survived...........
In Germany (official statistic) there were sold 7.730 units and today survived 3915 units.......only 51% of all RX-8's.......
There is now 1 RX-8 per 21.000 German citizens present.........(82 mill inhabitants)
How is that number in the UK? with 53 or 64 mill. inhabitants ?

Well, they sold about 25,000 of them, of which about 10,000 survive, not counting those currently SORNd.

Population is 66 million, so there's one for every 6,500 people or so.

Very interesting figures for the UK ......
From previous approx. 25.000 units RX-8 there now are only 10.000 units left........approx. 40% in the UK against 51% in Germany ........
Any reason why this figure is lower?

I would guess because they sold so many more here they're regarded as more disposable and not especially unusual here. In Germany their rarity means people are more inclined to hold on to them. But there's no way of knowing for sure.

I remember a time when most cars on the Motorways were Ford or Vauxhall. Now everything is German. Don’t get me wrong, they are quality cars but doesn’t everything look the same?
