May or just ordered the 1/2 set as well, my thinking was if I don't need the 1/4 or the 3/8 set and I'm getting them may as well get the 1/2. Will also be nice to build a track day/back of car toolkit up so I don't keep emptying my nice organised tool boxes out!

Has anyone got one of these in their tool box?
I have mole grips and an adjustable wrench but have never seen a combination of the two.
I think I will get one for my mobile track day tool kit, should come in handy as a universal fit all.

I've got these 'plier wrenches' by knipex which are kind of similar which I'm surprised how often I use them. I think they're better than adjustable spanners coz the jaws don't flex as you're pressing down on them.

http://www.knipex.com/index.php?id=1216 ... oupID=1500

I haven't seen those locking pliers before I must admit - looks neat, take the crap point of adjustable it seems. Let is know what you think of them when you get them.

The 3/8th set was around £12 last time I checked which is slightly annoying as I bought that as well as the 1/2 ones.

These don't generally include instructions Chris. You may be better off with something like this:

Some of the spanners were only open at one end so I had to get the angle grinder out to cut a slot in them!

We used to sell a ton of those 4in1 Carolus ratchet spanners, builders loved 'em as it covers M6,8,10 & 12.
I've got a Carolus 1/2" socket set that is the nuts, the perks (I used to get) working for a tool company! Would have cost a mint otherwise. Really miss that..

Gedore (Carolus is a very good sub-brand) make excellent tools, and millions of them. I don't recall them being made in Taiwan though. :-k

Nice bit of Moore & Wright there Chris. There was a Mitutoyo analog caliper we used to keep on the counter for helping identify odd fixings, it was a lovely bit of a kit, just nicely made. That and some thread gauges and we could usually identify most things.

Got some rarely used Mitutoyo stuff here and it's such a joy to hold and use. I would happily measure things on minimum wage for a living.
