Have I seen Rocketman?
I have just come back from "that funny little rock" and driving between the airport and Douglas on Wednesday I saw what I could only discern as a grey 8 (still not up to separating the silver from the titanium at speed) whizz by in the other direction sometime mid morning. Half an hour later on my return journey the process was reversed. I would not have been noticed as I was driving my uncle's Clio!
I guess it could have been someone else but I think it was a local plate and there can't be many 8s on the Isle of Man can there?

If you have indeed spotted Rocketman you will probably soon be the proud owner of a Turkish Delight with all the chocolate licked off.Rocketman wrote:Look out for me weekend after next. Albert dock, Liverpool to Loch Lomond ! Titanuim with black Manx number plates.

a black, a red and a silver on M-6 on Thursday, a strato pulling out of the filling station at junction 31 on m-6. A silver somewhere outside a pub (had lunch there) on A7. Three in edinburgh on Saturday - two parked. One behind princess street (a tit grey) and a red one close to the royal mile. Then a black on the M=6 on sunday...
I was in the silver 55 plate... have i finally spotted someone here?

I saw two, about 5 minutes apart, heading south on the A34 between Newbury and Sutton Scotney at about 7.10 yesterday evening. A Yellow and a Grey (titanium or galaxy), and no idea of plates I'm afraid. I was heading north and closing speed was far to much to see plates!

Saturday - red Evolve going around one of the roundabouts I think in Edinburgh (I forget where I saw it, probably near the Gyle).
And then today, red Evolve (I've forgotten the proper colour name - I'm assuming these were Evolves in that colour) going through Selkirk.

Saw another two today - a Black, reg no N1 *** I think heading south on the A420 near Buckland at about 6.00pm and a Titanium heading west on the M40 near junction 4 at about 7.00pm, couldn't see the plate but it certainly wasn't in the standard place. I don't think it was lowered centrally, but may have been on the nearside somewhere.

Oh well it may not have been you RM. I shall probably be back before too long, I was there to help clear up my Uncle's place as he has recently died (not too tragic, he was 87). Still loads to do so when next there I know to look out for black plated Ti. So if you see a local metallic grey Clio flashing at you sometime it will probably be me
Hadn't been there for ages, I had forgotten how beautiful the place is when the sun shines!

Drove from Carmarthen, South Wales to London today and only saw 2 8s on the way - a sunlight silver driving very slowly on the inside lane on the M4 past junction 44 and a VR (boo!) RX55 *** pulling into St Thomas' Hospital near Waterloo Station in front of me - he didn't see me wave! Quite a rarity considering it was nearly a 300 mile journey!
Regards Hywel
