They fit over the smaller front discs that the yanks get as standard, along with softer suspension...

The 18s are just under 10kg by my scales iirc. I'll weigh one this afternoon to verify

Stock wheels - 10kg a piece!
So that would for the 16" or 17" versions, as the Yanks didn't get 18" stock wheels.
Nope, that is 100% the stock 18" wheels.

The yanks got them as an option; but more than likely I was just adding my knowledge for that particular item.

I see this thread has picked up well! When I get to a laptop I will update the first post with all the figures we have accrued. Or if an admin has some free time they could put all the details into my first post ;)

I will weigh my Hotchkiss ARB's which are stiffer and hollow. Would be interesting to see the weight differential between, stock, RB, and these.

8.5kg, comprising:

Liam,

I'm currently working my way through this job at the moment. I'm amazed how much weight there is in this stuff alone!

The quickest way I have found to remove it is, get some freeze spray or dry ice. Put it on the insulation for a few seconds then immediately hit it with a hammer. Shatters it and makes it come away in big chunks.

I've done my boot now, and looking to do the front but before I start the front, did it make the car sound any 'tinnier' or excessively noisier? I've noticed the boot now sounds a bit cheaper almost with the metal being thin. But nothing I really notice with the carpet back down. I just don't want to make it excessively loud and uncomfortable inside as I'm aiming to keep this a streetable car.

I'm expecting with the carpets back in place it shouldn't be too bad?

What kind of things has everyone removed or replaced to save weight but also maintain the function of the car? I think the carbon boot lid is a good one.

Take a look through the previous posts, the list is reasonable comprehensive.
What one person defines as functional, another person may not. My car has no seat belts, airbags or rear seats. But it has full carbon buckets and harness'.

Does it weigh much less than the stock lid though, best thing to do to save weight with. Out lid is to just use the skin and use bonnet pins to hold it in place

Roughly half the weight (4kg) from what I've seen.

I've got a carbon bootlid, and it is substantially lighter when you open and close it - the standard one is really rather heavy. However, I didn't do that to save weight, more because I was sick of them rusting. If I was really worried about 4kg I'd do more by going to the gym more often and never calling in at KFC!

Rust was the main reason I would do it too. As soon as the issue occurs I would change it to a CF one.

Hi guys In building a rallycar Here in Denmark I've just weighed the entire wiring and all the computers that's about 60
Kilo on betting I can get it down to about 15 with aftermarket ecu and new wiring to the lights and couple of other things.

Sound proofing inside the car is 10 kg

This is a great thread keep it coming.
By the way the aircon radiator inside the car takes about 1,5 hour to remove and it only weighs 0,3 kg so I don't recommend that HAha

Some more numbers:

Radio head unit: 2.92kg
Lip spoiler: 1.24kg
Hoop spoiler: 1.5kg (I know, it's not much more!)
Ghetto decat: 9.5kg (1.5kg less than full cat)
Air box base, lid and filter: 2.81kg
Air box undertray: 1.00kg
Polystyrene behind front bumper: 0.17kg
vFAD: 0.88kg
Headlamp washer system compete: 1.25kg (+0.2kg fluid)
Alarm: 0.23kg

The air box got replaced with REVi, which was much lighter, but I forgot to weigh it.
