If VINs were included in the register list we could confirm if the build # was allocated sequentially, and potentially use that to identify missing numbers

I have already checked the VIN`s for the 40th Anniversary which have varying gaps compared to the 1- 400 build numbers so I would assume the other special editions are the same.

The VIN numbers would be in blocks with gaps, due to the production process, but are the VINs in numerical order, if you line-up the #'s in sequence?
If so, given a VIN of an unknown # Kuro, you could pin it's # down to between nn & nn.

I don`t know as one of the other 40th owners had a complete dealers list which I have got which was comprehensive enough to show which car by VIN was allied to the build numbers, we only have 34 out of 500 for the Kuro register unless Dave can do something with it.

Its assumed that the VIN`s can be matched to the build numbers but they can`t because looking at the 40th Anniversary numbers they didn`t just build 400 cars Anniversary cars then allot 400 build numbers as the VIN`s for the 400 cars are not consecutive so basically as the VIN`s are not consecutive neither are the build numbers.
I`m just looking at the Kuro VIN`s and build numbers and again they appear not to be consecutive but I need a few more VIN`s to confirm that.
