:whathesaid:

You'll struggle with that, compression testers are fairly expensive and really only dedicated rotary garages have them. [urlw=http://www.rotaryrevs.com/]Rotary Revs[/urlw] is probably your nearest, his site indicates he'll do a compression test for £35 extra if he's doing a service or health check. If you want one done on it's own then he may charge a bit more but I am not 100%, he's certainly worth going to see though as what he doesn't know about looking after RX8 is not worth knowing.

If you're getting the coil upgrade done with Ben then why not get him to compression test it too?

Its all down to funds mate I dont want to spend a load on a service coils plugs diff and gearbox oil if the test proves the compression is weak , not that i think it is no starting issues yet and ive a few weeks before I can afford the full job doing so hoped for a quick cheap comp test to keep me motivated on the saving front if you see what i mean.

If it still starts hot and cold then don't worry at this stage but if you're going in there then get the comp test done first and then you'll know what you're dealing with!

Not bluetooth, but that ELM327 above is wifi. I have one and works perfectly with my iPhone and Dashcommand.

I'm in Manchester btw, if anyone needs a code reading, clearing, etc...

I have orderd an OBDII/EMS and will shell out the mighty sum of £2.95 for my Android. Is there a list anywher of what is good/bad/indifferent/deadly?

New owner of both an RX8 and and OBDII so any direction is appreciated.

DashCommand is the best app IMO but it's £36!

I have it, and a normal reader, so anyone in Manchester is welcome to come and use it.

I have an OBDII reader as well as a bluetooth OBDII adaptor and Torque. I can cover Bedford and surrounding areas, or people are welcome to pop over for a brew if they need a code reading or resetting.

Is anyone prepared to interpret ELM2 logs via email/upload? Seems daft expecting the knowledge-holder to visit the seeker at his own cost. Sell your sage at fair cost (with RX8OC discount) and utilize PayPal. People pay for apps. so why not. Seven seems to be a winner.

Maybe you can get a discount in the traders section.

Think National not commutable. Save that for the meets :D

Ideally if you could do ELM2 and Paid-For Torque with suggested settings that would be really helpful and would without doubt be worthy of a sticky.
