Quick one before I embark on the journey on Saturday of changing my brake lines and clutch line to braided what order do you need to bleed the brakes and clutch? and is the clutch easy to bleed as I've only ever bled the front brakes?

The clutch can be a bitch to bleed as, unlike brakes, there's not a lot of resistance to work against.

I've had to put off doing mine, as the space is too tight for my swollen hands but the plan I had in mind was to attach the clutch line to the slave cylinder on the bench, as I was replacing both, and pre-fill and bench-bleed them before feeding the line up into the engine bay from below and attaching to the master, doing a quick switch with the existing line.

Using a vacuum bleeder on the slave to draw the fluid through.

If you're not removing the slave then it gets trickier but I'd still go for a large volume vacuum bleeder, as it doesn't rely on line pressure. The same for the brake lines, starting with the rears first, and keeping the reservoir topped-up at all times.

Any air that gets in from the top is a pain to shift, especially on the post-06 car without the bleed on the brake master, and can be a nightmare if it gets stuck in the ABS unit.

Be prepared for the hose to hard line unions to be seized solid onto the hard pipe and require cutting of the pipe and fitting a new union and flare to connect to the hose.
Beg or borrow a pipe flaring kit and unions just in case the above happens.
A useful trick is to put a piece of a plastic bag or cling film on the master cylinder then replace the cap. This slows the bleeding of fluid when removing the old hoses. I did mine one corner at a time and once the new hose was connected allowed fluid to run through the hose before connecting it to the caliper thus minimising any air left in the system.
Good luck.

Thanks all for tips did the clutch line today it took me 3 hours nearly so the brake lines will be done tomorrow... the actual clutch line was easy to get on and off surprisingly the hard part was actually bleeding the clutch it's in such a sh*t place if your short like me hahaha so really struggled to get a hose on the bleed nipple, took about 25 pumps to get all the air out off the clutch with two of us but it feels really good now.

This was happening before I did this but my clutch pedal has been squeaking since castle combe anyone know what's up with that? noise is coming from the pedal when you press it in it's like a squeal / chirp noise

I have a similar squeak/chirp from my clutch, I think it's a dry thrust bearing or possibly a rattling spring on the clutch plate

Thought I messed something up can hear a really bad whooshing noise in 2nd 4th and 6th pretty much non existent in 1st, 3rd and 5th re bled the clutch twice thinking I had trapped air installing the new line... nope turns out the fabric gaiter I installed instead of the leather one is letting all the sound through the second I cup my hand around the gear stick it quietens to what it use to be

Booked her into RR on the 27th to get the braided brake lines installed as I could not get the nuts of myself without rounding them, also having a lil tune up done on the dyno while I'm there as the cat is being replaced, pretty sure it's started blowing round that area as well so good timing! also booked it in for an early MOT on the 27th as I'm away on holiday when it actually renews.

Side note when I was under the car looks like when it was trolley jacked at the powder coaters they bent the sill joint jacking area by the rear wheel looks roughly 35 - 40 degree bend is it just a case of some mole grips and bending back in place?

i used a air hammer for the same job, otherwise the best option is a heavy hammer and a chunk of steel as a dolly to put behind it to help straighten it.

On Tuesday the Car was operating well above normal temps which was to be expected.
But I've never had the Fans kick in 5 minutes after I've parked the car locked it and left it.
Is this normal, I returned and started normally but the Fans normally cut out 5 seconds after I remove the ignition key, never noticed them kick in independently of the ignition before.

Changed the Aluminium wheel Studs for Steel, don't look as good but hopefully will keep the wheels from coming loose🥺 also took the opportunity to make sure the Spacers are nice and tight then finished off by rotating the tyres front to back.

Had it down at RR today "definitely a cat installed" a remap and some P&Bs and I was like a little kid driving home the backfire when you lift of from WOT is insane I could feel it like hitting the back of the seat / my back, sounds absolutely incredible

Even better yet the droning on motorways has gone completely and it's only a single res its nice to be able to hear again and not have a headache coming out of a motorway journey

and it's finally pushing over 200rwhp!! WHOOP

It’s whp, well hp at hubs that’s what rr uses. The dyno does seem to read higher than others though

Use a different oil, there is a lot of hype about oils and they all do pretty much the same job, as long as you follow the specifications
