Looks good, when I did my rear lights I used some discarded fire escape light cover to diffuse, can just about see them here in this pic when I was the process of tinting them
IMG_20180721_155138.jpg
cheers for that, I'll look into it. how did you manage to separate the lense around the key hole so neatly? I drilled a ring of pilot holes then cut between them, but it's a bit messy. this unit is just a test bed for me so I wasn't too worried about it being perfect. but I would love help on how/where best to cut them open and any good tips on resealing...

Hi, I cut around the back of the housing where the lock was then used some milliput epoxy to seal it back up after.
20170326_133332.jpg
I made a quick vid a couple of years back on part of the process of cutting into the lights, the main thing for a successful cut was to use a quality dremel cutting wheel, I used some cheaper ones first and it made the job a lot harder.
One of the good things about the S1 lights is how cheap they are, I messed up my first attempt then got two more from a breaker for £20.

When cutting plastic, run the dremal wheel through a bar of soap first, it then cuts the plastic easier and with less melting.

Started mine up today after over 2 weeks without being used. The cold, tiny Odyssey PC680 dry cell did well !

Still, might make a little jump start lead for it as I'm a little paranoid.

Changed the gearbox oil to redline from the millers trx stuff and what a difference. absolutely no crunches anymore. engine oil and filter changed.
AEM fitted too and scheduled in another dyno run for the end of the week to see what difference exhaust and CAI has actually made...

also the second variant of a custom headlight mock up complete. think I'm going to alter the design ever so slightly but I will take this to the next step now. need to work out how to mount the array and diffuse it before the clear lense... got some ideas. the sequence goes; sidelights on with animation, brake light test, indicator animation, then sidelights off with animation...

Looking forward to hearing about your CAI and exhaust differences on the dyno.

All I know at the moment is +10whp peak increase. When I got home and compared the graphs from the stock visit, the original visit had RPM on the X-axis and the printout from the 2nd run had MPH which is a bit annoying. So I don't know how the graphs actually compare. Could be 20whp down across the whole range apart from that one +10 point for all I know. I've asked for all runs to be emailed individually plus the best run from both visits to be overlaid on the same graph, all with RPM on the Xaxis. I'll update when I get them through...

Nice flammage though :P

Hi, that link doesn't work for me, it was this one though I believe it's now been superceded https://www.mx5parts.co.uk/stebel-nauti ... -3207.html

It mounts quite well behind the oil cooler in the stock location, from inside the car it doesn't sound that much louder but from outside the tone is a lot more noticable and it's hard to pinpoint where it's coming from.

Have had the same issue with a spark plug. Imagine it causes more issues with forced induction putting more strain on ignition system. Had a slight stumble today coming back from Northampton, I think there's a slightly iffy wire or connection to the maf, going to get the contact cleaner on the connector tomorrow.

Test fitted my solar battery charger, incorporated a switch on the centre console as it should not be connected while starting or running the engine. Don’t like the way the wire is showing coming out of the panel, so will drill a little hole underneath the panel and feed it through that way. Seems to be working well, it chucks out 20v. This is to combat the drain on the battery that my nexus takes as it is is charging all the time. A few times now if the car has not moved for a week the battery loses too much charge to start the car.

We’ll see how well it performs ?
