Oh it's doing that OK mid range to the top but at idle it just seems a bit "not smooth"

Hi Chris,ChrisHolmes wrote: ↑Tue Nov 27, 2018 4:58 pmDecided to run OBD Fusion app on the way home today to see what data it logged and the results are in the excel spreadsheet below.
All calculated from ECU data feeds and I am pretty sure I have the correct vehicle parameters entered.
Comments welcome from those who know how to interpret this sort of data.
27th November 2018.xls
How accurate is that Data?
Looks like a good powerful motor.
I see two instances you were accelerating with a current speed at data capture of around 60MPH - with one instance showing 236BHP and another at 254BHP at a rate of 4MPG. .
I see the 98MPH too.
When so many in here seem to state that these engines never seem to actually produce the 231BHP from factory - I am thinking your Street port has made that massive difference - if the data can be deemed accurate. Which - I expect can me more clarified by the difference in driving experience from when it was standard and you completed the street port mod.
I am not meaning to question the data or appear insulting - I am just genuinely curious - as the data looks good - and it appears the mod - makes a significant difference.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Best not to trust the OBD calculated data as if I have an incorrect parameter the result gets skewed. Also these are flywheel not wheel numbers and the hub dyno at RR was 172hp

Filled up and checked fuel consumption.... : (
Lowest MPG so far at 14.2!!!
Some stationary idle waiting for it to be warm enough to be switched off but mainly lots of traffic!
Major local road (A1231) closed for over a week due to 2 tonnes of lard being spilled on it from a tanker - they've spent a week scraping and jet washing it to now decide it needs to be resurfaced...
Got to love our local council!

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Following Dave's advice re. screen wash additive [ I had no idea previously about being careful what to use] I've bought some of the Sonax [5l for £20]. (NB some of the Sonax 1l bottles on Amazon are for summer use, but the description does'n't make that clear.)
I'm going to empty and flush out the washer system before adding the Sonax to avoid any chance of forming a gel due to unfortunate combination of chemicals. (I've seen reports of that happening.) Dilute as follows:
Protection to |Proportion of additive | Proportion of water
-30C 3 1
-20C 1 1
-10C 1 2
So I calculate that it takes £6.66 of Sonax to make 5l of -10C protection mix.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Finished running in rebuilt engine (Large Street Port).
2nd oil and filter change (done at 500 and 1000 miles).
Rev limiter removed, now to start (gradually) using more revs - I have missed the beeps.
Mind you I joined the 300-mile club three times whilst running in.
Couple of new tyres fitted to the rear (Avon AZ7).
Few more things indentified to take care of in the New Year, but I need to get a couple of paychecks into my depleted bank account.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
-Started it stone cold and oil warning light immediately came on.
-Shut it off in panic and the engine wheezed to a halt (not heard it do that before )
-Cursed myself thinking I've flooded it. Am already late for the school pick up.
-Cranked it twice with gas pedal flat to the floor
-Then started it normally. No smoke, no drama. Successful school run.
-Put 1500ml of oil in it once home.
Love the R3.
