I had the same issue when ordering from rotary revs, products are great but prepare for a long wait for delivery.

I mean I'm quite happy to wait generally and if I had thought about the pilot bearing earlier I would've ordered it. But a 5 day wait to even package and such it is a bit pants! Just a pain as I really need my car back in working order by next week really. It'll be cutting it fine on it being delivered when my mechanic can still do the work easily. Otherwise things get really complicated...

On the subject of parts, I ordered a rear main oil seal and the stationary housing o ring from mazda coventry(oil leak) 3 days to arrive and only £25 not bad service and oem parts, don't under estimate the abilities of main dealers for parts and not always that expensive.

Took VR home from mrspiller’s the long way for a long road test. Steering’s sweet no tram lining where I’d expect it to and no deviation under heavy braking.
Plenty of pops and bangs lol.

So my RRP coils have arrived today. Woo! Sadly the pilot bearing from rotary revs has not... Which really puts me in a bad place.. Probably the last time I'll order parts from them.

My local parts shop doesn't do them. And my local Mazda dealerships are 60 miles in either direction sadly but I imagine they'd also need to order in anyway. :/ I don't think my mechanics supply line could do it either.

You have tried Clive at MRP, I suppose? It's the kind of thing he usually keeps in stock, and can deliver next day.

After 3 weeks standing on the drive, it started almost as easily as normal. :)
Drove to the nearest Dealership for fuel tank and passenger airbag recalls. (see my post here https://www.rx8ownersclub.co.uk/forum/v ... 0#p1230080 for details)

What's the problem with the brake light wiring?

The wiring for the 'high' level brake light is prone to breakages where it passes through the boot lid. Consider crimping with butt joints and finishing with heat shrink tubing rather than soldering if you haven't done it already - it will stand up to movement a lot better.

Does the key fit the boot release?

Thanks for the tip Phil. I gave up trying it in the dark last night maybe a job for tomorrow.

The keys not working in the boot either. The fob opens the passangers and the boot. Just not the drivers side. Im assuming the key I have is a replacement as I found a bag for it and some paperwork in the glove box.

I wonder how easy getting new locks to match this key (and a second key and the power button to work) will be :-k

Today has been hunting down (cheap Haas coild from euro car parts. I'm sorry I just needed them today to scratch my itch and replace the no name eBay specials. I'm saving for better ones (the red Ryan's look gooooood)) then fitting them with new leads. Then I put in new rear disks and pads. The car was advertised as low power untill 3k rpm I think the attached pic could be why.....

Spoilers for tomorrow...... Buy 20mm spark plug socket and install new plugs. Investigate the air con chirping ( I'm assuming belt), try to make the head lights clear again, fix the boot break light and start reading the forums. Maybe if there's time and it's not to forward... PM members in the oxford/reading areas about compression testers. I might hold off on the last one untill my membership number arrives and my status is updated.

Hoping the weathers nice tomorrow. If it is I'll probably swap out the headlights for my second set that should clean up a lot easier. Anddd finally give it an over due wash again! Might even consider putting in my RRP coils. :p Even though the clutch now isn't being done until Tuesday most likely.

If you are prepared to travel to Cookham I can help with that. Alternatively, Luke Murdoch is mobile and reasonably priced so can come to you.
