Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Looks like that will be a bit of a pain to get off pippy, but i'm sure it'll be worth it for the looks hah! Best of luck to you
Finally got round to giving my 8 a proper wash, as it's the first day that i've had the car where it's been light and not raining (damn the winter rainy weather and getting dark at 4pm )
also managed to properly mount the numberplate using the plastic mount for the front bumper as i picked up some black screw covers to make it look all proper - i think someone had previously used M6 bolts for the holder but they forced it out when it was last removed, so i've had to re-thread the hole in the bumper to an M8 so there'll be a bit of a bigger hole each side of the bumper now if it goes plateless on the front again, but i'm not planning that one anytime soon. I'm still missing the fog light trims at the moment, as they're off the car waiting for me to find time to repaint them - they were done gloss black by the previous owner and now have chrome stone chips where the paint is no longer there, so i'm going for matte/satin black when i get round to it to match the bumper.
(also! finally figured out the rotation on the photos. took me long enough but now i just load them up in photoshop and export them so it's not autorotating from exif tags)

Shame I didn't make it in time as could have come and said hi. With the m4 closed jct 8-10 I swung by m40 on my way back today.ChrisHolmes wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 7:17 pmDrove over to Oxford to meet Nick and give him Neils WhiteLine ARBs that he bought months ago and to receive my front AeroLip. Aside from the fog it was a pleasant traffic free drive.
A nice R3 brapped into the car park as we chatted and we thought it was the one just collected from RR with a bridgeport.
Went to Bristol to get some spare PZ alloys with slightly used federal 595's on, as I am now scared if I use my new rainsport 5's in anything short of torrential conditions at Donny, they'll overheat and melt
On the way back picked up sat nav housing from Nick and now need to figure out what to do with it.
Fog was crazy today. At times I couldn't see 20 metres I reckon. I thought I was being a tool at times with my foglights on in medium fog, but on the other hand some people didn't even have any lights on, in super thick fog. A few times I was surprised by a car just appearing in front, almost as if out if nowhere, as they were invisible till I was pretty much on them.

If Photoshop export is a pain, just opening in paint and saving, is enough to sort it

When chatting with Chris, we had both seen quite a few cars with no lights on in the fog - craziness.v-rex wrote: ↑Sun Nov 29, 2020 8:26 pmShame I didn't make it in time as could have come and said hi. Hi
I have decided to build up the spare rear hub when the bearing gets here so I can just swop a complete hub.
I took out the old bearing ,took out the abs sensor and the rubber bush, cleaned up the hub and put a new bush in so just waiting for the new bearing now.

How did you get on with removing the abs sensor without damaging the retaining sleeve.Markl17 wrote:Hi

Fitted the Mazdaspeed bumper over the weekend, all went smoothly and it looks great! You'd never know my car was once Met' Grey
Need a different sized plate to fill that gap now. Assuming it's designed for JDM size.

But the sleeve in the casting has deteriorated and crumbled.
Probably have to pay an arm and a leg to get them via Mazda if they’re sold separately to the sensor. ??

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Mine had a short plastic sleeve / collar which had gorled preventing the sensor going fully home so I broke it all off and fitted the sensor without it. No lights so it must be ok.

I fitted mine without and positioned it midway between fully up and fully down before tightening the bolt.
