Changed battery in rain..
Only chance I'll get this weekend so had to stick it out.
Just tuned radio, switched beep off and reset drivers window whilst waiting for engine warm up.
TC next as got blinking 'DSC OFF' warning
At least heater is thawing my hands...
Ps
Forgot to say first cold start was much better under the new power...

Swapped spark plugs, in the drizzle, was dry when I first lifted the car and was intending to do an oil and filter change, but with the drizzle I thought better of the oil change, maybe next week.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
So,following our ramp day, which revealed i had a leaking front shock,i decided to take the advise given, and sourced a complete pz pro drive set.
Fitting was a walk in the park, having already freed up all the bolts peviously, and whilst on the case,i fitted my space saver wheel courtesy of Dave 2112.
I took it for a short spin and there is a very noticeable difference in the characteristics, which i was not expecting to be so pronounced,so,all in all,a very productive morning, thanks for the tips, rob.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
I see someone currently has a complete PZ set with rear springs requiring replacement for sale on the forums for a tidy £200 quid... Wish I had that sitting about currently.

These looked in good nick for £120 on eBay so prices are much lower if you look about :-)Yorindesarin wrote:I see someone currently has a complete PZ set with rear springs requiring replacement for sale on the forums for a tidy £200 quid... Wish I had that sitting about currently.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
James it was mainly down to you and a leaky shock that i got them. i will let you know what a difference they make when the car is legal again, but a quick spin down to the village and back, with all those pot holes was very encouraging. Remember that weird knocking we talked about? it was the bottom front strut bolts being loose. By the way,i replaced the rack gaiters too,the tie rods were fine.

Ahah oh yeah for sure. But even at 200~ quid if the shocks are in working order and dont look too rusty its not a bad upgrade really is it!shroom wrote: ↑Sun Nov 17, 2019 5:52 pmThese looked in good nick for £120 on eBay so prices are much lower if you look about :-)Yorindesarin wrote:I see someone currently has a complete PZ set with rear springs requiring replacement for sale on the forums for a tidy £200 quid... Yeah true although a new set from the club shop is 500 odd quid so spending 365 on a second hand set us a bit daftYorindesarin wrote:Thats true. Yeah. I mean if the stock in the club shop wasn't there then I'd go second hand.

Definitely problem I suppose with new could be that it shows up everything else so you will end up wanting to replace everything which is good but expensive!Yorindesarin wrote:Yeah. I mean if the stock in the club shop wasn't there then I'd go second hand.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Just don't look at the corrosion on your rear control arms it'll scare you, I've replaced my toe and camber arms curtesy of coparts who stored/damaged my car when it was rear ended and I'm glad I did, as they obviously had been weakened by rust.

Now a distant memory unfortunately.

Drove off with my focus' windscreen almost similar to that. But it's heated so by the time I got to the end of my track I could see.
