And today, I treated myself to some wiring of a sub  not quite going to be annoying the neighbours it's not that loud, but it's much better sounding inside the 8 now ha! it's currently a bit messy in there as i've still got to tidy up the wires and route them properly, but it's in and working =D> (more ramblings about it in my thread)

also changed the airbag to a gloss black trim one from an MX-5 too as it fits in so much nicer with the other trims on the wheel and dash of the car

I replaced some bulbs in the front. I can’t believe that you have to take the whole bumper off to access most of them !!!

Got my AC on/off issue diagnosed - it's the compressor 😒

Every car I have purchased in the UK has needed a new AC compressor 🤦‍♂️

I'm going to get the condenser/dryer replaced while I'm at it.
although it is looking much more shiny and rust free after picking it up from the body shop on Friday!

I'm sure the manual shows access to the rear of the lights by removing the front wheel arch liners.
Mind you, at least removing the bumper does make access easier.

It's possible to swap the main lamps via the wheel arch liner removal method, on a 231 the side lamps can just about be swapped from inside the engine compartment they have an extension tube with wings on them(like a wing nut)

Went for a spin and filled it with fuel. On the way back the interior lights were coming on when I turned right.

Hi PaulAV, yeh, I saw that, I could have probably done the main beams like that, but for the life of me I couldn’t do the side lights 🤬 - so off came the bumper.
Wasn’t hard, just fiddly.
Gave me a chance to clear some leaves etc from the rads too 👍

You’re right, it does, the main beams would have prob been ok, but I just couldn’t get the sidelights from there no matter what I did - and I have slim hands ! Lol

Update on the super LSD repair, just had a message from the company that carries out these repairs, the repair has been completed on my carrier/LSD and I just have to pay and get it back, then trial it.

Big shout out to Nickp47 who stopped by earlier this afternoon to compression test my S1 for the first time since i've had her.

Needless to say, when Nick subsequently highlighted that he's never seen results this good before, it not only made my day but also justified all my research and calculated risk of not getting a test done prior to purchase.

Thanks Nick, really appreciate you stopping by, hope you got home safe and sound.

The pleasure was all mine testing such a good engine :D

It sounds like the car will be taken care of well which is great as it’s such a low mileage example.

Took it to the hand car wash down the road to get all the salty muddy crud off. Got the inside of windows done too. Bloke doing it had never seen suicide doors before.
