Fitted a 10 ohm resister to my 3rd brake light, thankfully this removed the abs and traction control lights (recent changes of rear light clusters with led brake lights) on another note car feels weird with the new engine mounts, I had got so use to the way the car felt with the RRP engine mounts

Dropped the R3 off for the wheel refurb and a new set of P Zeros. Booked it in to a local garage for Thursday to diagnose the AC clutch only engaging for a second or two at a time every 20-30s.

Noticed when I got in it today there was no mist/condensation buildup on the front and rear windscreens, and the car now smells fresh - amazing what difference a new pair of cabin filters and freshly cleaned interior glass can do!

Been watching a few of ChrisFix's Super Clean series on youtube - the fabric parts of the Recaros are quite heavily soiled/stained so I want to see what I can do there, and it was good to get an idea of how to give the engine bay a good clean. I may even stretch to attempting some paint correction myself as there are fair few scratches.

Enjoy your trip, hopefully your heater stands a chance of keeping you warm. A pleasure to help by the way.

Got the car back a day early yesterday with a gorgeous new colour and fresh set of P Zeros - after a bit of a scrub in last night the car is gripping MUCH better than before!

Really need a sunny day, and obviously photos don't quite capture it, but this Dark Copper Gloss really sparkles in the light!

Aye pretty much - I was going through the receipts I have again last night and noted it had both rear springs replaced a couple of years ago at £60 a piece.

I've just had a garage do the steering system reprogramme (as discussed here: viewtopic.php?f=24&t=84543&start=25 ) and they are charging £90 +vat. Does that seem like a normal commercial rate, (for what seems like a very simple proceedure) or are they taking the P***? I told them that it looked like that would fix it, and basically told them how to do it, so no diagnostics or research to speak of.

That sounds like a fairly standard basic rate from a large dealer. For reference Arnold Clark will charge £120 (incl VAT) at a minimum.

So aye you're getting ripped off, but it's a fairly standard ripoff. An obd dongle and an hour of your own time to setup forscan and do the calibration is going to be far cheaper.

Just a local garage, and maybe they had to download the software or set it up, but as the job itself seems to take only a few minutes, I was a bit surprised. Hey ho.
And thanks.

I don't know what you had in mind [obvs] but would black plastic covers suit?

I recently bought some nut covers to fit 17mm nuts, off ebay, and they come with four special ones to go on the locking nut, but can't find the same for 21mm nuts. Most odd.
https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/304237683595 ... %3A2047675

There are these, but i don't see any specially big ones for the locking nuts. :(

Good luck hunting, if you fancy them.
