The cooling system is pressurised and designed to work fine at over 115C.

The fans strategy starts at 97°C, with low-speed of the first fan...

So I was near then. I monitor my temps with my gauges and I notice before remap they kick in late now they kick in earlier I still manage to do up to 100 when we had the 20 degrees sunshine in Brighton in stationary traffic for about 30 minutes waiting to go in the car park also my idle is 1k not 800

Nice little drive down to Stroud and back today. Nice because the car did not stallout once when coming to a stop and pulled smoothly with no misfires. Then Dave had a drive and it played up for him at virtually every stop!
Started it up to drive home and no issues at all.
One bad point though is that he likes the extra torque of the supercharger and now wants a supercharged motor!!

Big test over the next few days as we are taking the car down to Christchurch on Sunday and over to Portland for a few days exploring the area.

Spliced in new maf sensor connector, seems the was a loose socket or brocken wire, as every time I even looked at it the idle and running would be affected. Seems more stable now especially after coming off high revs.

That connector does for the MAF and the IAT sensors, so any poor connection can really throw the fuelling.

Guys (and gals) I need some advice.
So to answer the title of the topic, I replaced my OEM coil kit with a BHR one that I picked up 2nd hand last year on ebay, according to seller it has 5K in it and attached the original Essex Rotary receipt.
I also wanted to replace the spark plugs while I was there but one of them got stuck about 1/3 way out and all I had is that flimsy double jointed spark plug wrench, so I just tightened it back and postponed plugs when I have a proper ratchet extension.
I managed to get the BHR kit in and connect everything, put everything back in its place but the car would not start, starter doesn't even turn. There's a click from the relay like when the battery is dead and that's it.
Now the only thing I can think of is that I got caught by a sudden and intense shower while being out and I know the engine bay and the BHR kit itself got a bit wet. I'll try in a few days to see if there's any change hoping that everything would dry out by then.
Other than that what could be the reasons behind the car not working?
Thanks!

Others have had problems with the adapter harness rubbing and shorting to earth. Might be worth double checking.

Could be a bad connection to the battery as the clamps are known to stretch so even with a tight bolt the clamp is loose.

If the starter won't even turn it's a power issue, coils don't have any say on the engine turning over

Where did you connect the earth for the coils?
Driver side on the side of the engine bay was a bolt with ither small wires grounded.

That was my thought process too. Could be that something got wet in the hail/rain and shorts...

Best place for the earth connection is negative battery terminal, you could have a fuse blown if electrics have got wet
