The RX8 manages the air pressure in the tank via the Evaporative Purge system, that can trigger a P0441/2/3 CEL if the original cap is loose or an aftermarket vented cap is fitted.

With a distinct lack of budget, time and things on the to do list, I just continued to secure my place as having the most distasteful RX-8 on here.

Charlie, who also donated a gimp mask for the car a while ago, dropped it off a week or two ago. I thought it was a new nose stud but apparently just a pin/badge thing from Pets At Home.

If it's from an oil cooler pipe then be very careful about driving it anywhere. Wouldn't want it to rupture - bearings don't really like 0 oil pressure for very long at all.

I noticed something was up when I got into a traffic jam and a small amount of smoke appeared on the right side and then stopped. I’ve just sprayed water into the front right radiator opening and water comes out from the same place as oil was which is in from the front of the car so not right under the radiator. The leak does seem to have stopped or reduced a lot which does point to it being somewhere that doesn’t have oil when the engine is off.

I’ve just checked the oil level I’ve lost about 600ml from when I checked it this morning (gone down 1 marking on the dipstick). I did 50 miles today but I suspect it was the last 20 it occurred. I can top it up and do short distances to Essex rotary or get it recovered. Do these things tend to get rapidly worse?

No more leakages this morning since it has been sat overnight.

It's unlikely to really leak while switched off.

The fact that oil managed to get out somewhere, somehow, is never a good sign.

I'd certainly take a wheel and splash guard off quickly to check the state of the pipes.
I haven't enough experience with leaving them long enough to know how bad they deteriorate but they certainly can leak like a bugger before long.

Does anyone know if u can mod the 192 airbox as I couldn’t fit the airbox as mines a 231 and they have different bits on ?

Aren't the airboxes the same,except that the 192's don't have provision on the back for the VFAD solenoid

Surely something can be rigged up to mount the solenoid,even if it means tie-wrapping it to the loom under the airbox

Or better yet,just get rid of the entire VFAD gubbins

Removed number plate with Luke's help. Stick on replacement a bit crap though, so getting a replacement. It'll do for the moment. Boy does the front look loads better.
