Went to the garage with the other car and he was telling me about a new RX8 owner in town, he had the car in a few days ago cause it was flooded so told him the easiest way to unflood it for future reference... sounds like from what he told me the guys also got a weak ignition system and only drives it a short distance

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Took the car for a few beeps today, she needs a good clean but didn't have time to do it all today so, cleaned the glass with methylated spirit, before reapplying some Rainex.
Applied some Leather cleaner and conditioner which was sucked in like a sponge.
Applied some trim gel to exterior Plastics and tyre dressing.
Hoovered and cleaned mats.
Wash and polish tomorrow if weather holds.
Oh and the Jeep went in for a new droplink, gearbox oil and filter and fuel filter.
Gearbox is now back to changing seamlessly.
And the clunking has gone.

Removed gutted cat and installed aftermarket one, getting it ready for MOT. ordered new gasket and bolts (previous ones wanted to be removed with angle grinder) for midpipe to muffler, exhaust leak detected.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
So I just had some very lovely man on an escooter go straight down the middle of the road and in to my Rx8 while I was turning a corner. Was very surprised to see the only damage was the where the bumper connects to the front driver wing which will annoy me but is what it is.
I think the worst part of this was the bloke on the e scooter continued riding after going into the side of my car and only stuck his hand up to say sorry….. swear to god they need to do more to get the idiots that ride this these off the roads.

That's an ouch.. Today I noticed this on my drivers door.. I don't tend to park with people on my drivers side either..
So no idea how it's happened. The scratch isn't nail deep and the dent should be a paint less repair job.. Job but it's at a really weird angle imo..

Looks familiar, I park well away from anyone, yet always come back to someone parked right next to me. Side of my car looks like its been parked at a golf course.Yorindesarin wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 5:22 pmThat's an ouch.. Today I noticed this on my drivers door.. If it was a rental scooter in a trial area then being on the road is legal, however all none trial scooters are illegal to ride in any public space. https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/ca ... latest-EVGPippypip wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 5:10 pmSo I just had some very lovely man on an escooter go straight down the middle of the road and in to my Rx8 while I was turning a corner. What have you done to your RX-8 today????
I laughed today as there was a big guy on an escooter hurtling along a pavement dodging pedestrians as they do came off a dropped kirb smack into the side of a new transit van. He dropped to the ground like a sack of spuds
The driver of the van wasn’t amused as he kicked him out of the way as he got out of the van.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Would have been a private scooter as Coventry banned voi e scooters from the city centre I’m pretty sure. Remember going on a night out in September last year and they were legitimately everywhere in the city centre just dumped on the pavement (the rental ones I mean). Only place I think the rentals are allowed now on the Warwick uni campus/area which is about 4 miles from where this happened.ChrisHolmes wrote:If it was a rental scooter in a trial area then being on the road is legal, however all none trial scooters are illegal to ride in any public space. https://www.express.co.uk/life-style/ca ... latest-EVGPippypip wrote: ↑Fri Jul 02, 2021 5:10 pmSo I just had some very lovely man on an escooter go straight down the middle of the road and in to my Rx8 while I was turning a corner. Cleaned up my Milltek exhaust tips, having had them off, to fit the mufflers on for noise reduction at Snetterton. Cleaned up rather well I think.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Today I’ve had my aircon pressure tested, aircon pump serviced and re-oiled and system re-gassed. Now completely recharged and ice cold!
While the aircon system was being refreshed I changed my rear light clusters as my gaskets were leaking on the original units and I was getting fed up with taking them out every so often and draining and drying them (plus the wife isn’t impressed as I use her hairdryer)
Next on my to do list is clean out and re-seal the front bumper lenses, they are riffy, and also polish the headlight lenses.
Drove around ten miles that’s all but as we all know a cool rotary car is an ice cold RX8 on a hot day!

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Looks awesome with those rear lights! It's amusing how good the Aircon seems to be in pretty much all RX-8's. To say it's an early 00's car, I know loads of others of that age where the "Aircon" is a luke-warm breeze even after someone tries to fix it up

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Harry (So Wax Detailing) runs Crossroads Garage Chris and has launched his care care product brand from there, his Dad, my brother, is Roundabout Cars. Harry has bought the aircon machine and it’s a fantastic piece of kit.It checks for leaks, checks how much gas is in and how much is needed, then checks the pump and tells H if the compressor needs oil, then it gets on and checks the system holds 1 bar of pressure, then if everything passes it puts gas in. Can also take gas out if work is required. I was fascinated!

I am in the alter ego car today too.
Evolve is undergoing some exciting tweaks. One day will post up some more.
Hope you are satisfied with Harry’s detailing products, he’s got a couple of detailing product shops stocking it now!
And the trade lads are going mad for it, so any my feedback gratefully received, he is still bringing new stuff to market.

Fitted a higher amperage breaker to the boot mounted battery after slightly undersizing the first one, complete with finger guard so the shopping doesn't fall onto it and cut the power. Not that it ever happened, but still...

Mine doesnt work (seller said it did, of course) - needs a new compressor. But hilariously (read: really effing annoyingly), the 5 year old van I brought from a dealer earlier this year also had a leaky compressor
Luckily the van was sorted under warranty, and fortunately I get a discount through work for mazda parts and labour so I'm aiming to get the compressor in the car replaced "soon"

Ahhhh, that reminds me of the good 'ol days of watching Polsat 1 and 2 on Eutelsat as a kid. One bloke would speak over all voices (including female) in a monotonous drone. Without bothering to properly sub or dub it. The only way to really enjoy Walker Texas Ranger.
Late night was the time to switch over to the German channels like RTL2...
