Todays task was another engine oil change after 2000 miles of driving and 2 track days .
Also changed the gearbox oil for Redline MT 90. Had previously done it with Gear 300 oil but it still feels a bit awkward sometimes so it was due a second flush and thought I would try this oil instead. After reading on here about others using it.
Also put the exhaust on that I bought off a fellow club member. Went straight on with a perfect fit. Mine took a bit of persuasion to come off as the bolts were a bit stubborn.
Not a bad day to be honest but crawling underneath to do the exhaust was a bit "exhausting" shall we say..and my legs are aching a bit.
But the results were good.

Yeah, after consulting the manual, there is just a big bare bit of metal that it suggests.

Good job. I installed a Racing Beat on my own. Like you, it wasn't as difficult as I thought it was going to be. I just lay underneath with the exhaust on top of me and just jammed it in with my knees and elbows until I could fit one of the rubbers. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I do. Great sounds come out of them!

Unfortunately not. Tried desperately to get it to 100k but one rotor gave up at 97.5k. #-o Rebuilt and run in on the way to Spa and is now on 108k.

Retired eventually at 71, after a heart attack last February, and the state and a small private pension can no longer support two cars, especially as the RX had to be garaged at a cost of £800 pa. plus it is now rarely used other than for track days, which with tyres, brakes, fuel and the cost of the track time was going to be about another 3k. Sums which I can no longer afford without depleting savings.

That’s good enough reason, they’re expensive to run, use, keep in good nick etc.... and of course no point having anything without your health. Appreciate the reply and good luck to you :xmasthumright:

It won't be the same without you Ray, even though we've not seen you since we moved over here.

Don't forget there's an open invitation to visit, and no excuse now you're retired.

Hit bit of a milestone today. 700 miles into the running in and it was time for an oil change. The change went smoothly and next milestone is a trip to Rotary Revs at 1500 miles for a mapping session and then it's beep & braaap to my heart's content. :)

Tein suspension fitted today. Fronts pretty easy but the rears a bit more difficult especially on your own but not as bad a job as I thought it would be. Knees are killing me now though all that getting up and down..!
