Link to repair panels if your 8 is suffering rust, just something I discovered whilst browsing, no affiliation, but may help someone out.
Also fitted the R3 style rear lights that I brought off Lee, once I realised each fitting would only fit a certain location it was easy.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Its best to remove the pulley before pulling the engine out so you have more forward space. But you know this now having been down the same road as me and damaging the pulley.julian.rx8 wrote: ↑Fri Nov 26, 2021 5:42 pmWell, I started pulling my engine today. It’s my first time doing this so wish me luck guys
Unfortunately I bent my pulley a bit, tried hammering it back down but it just wouldn’t work. Don’t think that this would be loving life at 10.000RPM
Will continue stripping the engine down tomorrow. Can’t wait for my engine hoist to arrive so I can finally pull it out next weekend
I have a spare pulley I wont be using so do you need me to send it as a Christmas gift which should avoid any importing costs. Just postage to pay.

As I told him, they where a mock up, not to be used.
The ones I made for actual use have been weighed in for scrap as scrap price made them worth it. I never ran the mockups in the car.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Hopefully cleared the heater core from rust and calcium deposits. Though as i finished the snow felt and I didn't test in the end.
The water didn't do anything, than 35% vinegar acid (pretty much the strongest chemical one can get here... No HCL sadly) was ised with a 12V pump to circulate the acid for 3 h. After 1h the acid got cloudy and after one more hour it got brown as in picture. Replaced the acid and ran it for another hour.

I shoved the seats in the car as I was hung over and frozen. If I had realised the alignment jig would garner attention I would have removed it.
It's was only ever a jig and I'm in contact with Neil for proper mounting hardware. James has been a star with these so please keep in mind what's there was to serve a function, that function was not to be used as mounting points.

Most of us have to revert to CAD (Cardboard Aided Design) so those aluminium strips were one-up on that

Not sure what that means but I take it you don’t approve that I’m using my car to get things from a shop to my house?

Nooo
Just the chance of that insulation getting in the fibres of the seats
You’ll be itching like hell for a long time
I hate the stuff , just used lots of it over the years in construction.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Actually looked at rex today. First time in over a month. She has been sat up in the garage awaiting some spare time to put her to bed properly for winter. Run up and down the street to get warm instead of sitting at idle on lower oil pressure, full wash and clean with underneath and arches all jet washed aswell, wax coat applied, run up amd moved back in garsge with air con on max to remove any moist interior air, tyres rammed to 45psi for storage, battery maintainer fitted amd plugged in, fluffy fleece indoor cover on, heating should keep it about 10 degree in garage and potenially be May until i see her again now.......though may do some bits in new pending time.
