Changed the oil at the weekend and now I have the red oil can symbol on permanently. Plenty of oil pressure up by .8bar at 4000rpm so I think the low level switch is just stuck for some reason.

Swapped my knackered engine mounts for some refurbished (solid) ones.
Gear selection easier and loads less vibration at idle.
Do seem to get a little more... reverberation? Pulling away from standstill

Pete/Peter him/he/hrh couldn't really care as have 3 siblings and was lucky not to get called by the dogs name.

Exactly what I've had ever since my BHS mounts were fitted..often quite a heavy reverb from the door cavities, usually when maneuvering at low revs.

I've gotten used to it,but more than one passenger has remarked on it..

After rebuilding my own mounts, I lost a lot of cabin vibration, not all, but went from vibration building all as the car raced towards high revs where the whole cabin used to buzz, to now just a bit of a buzz only at full chat

If the mounts had collapsed completely then they hammer against the stops and the vibration can be really nasty, felt through the body and the gearchange

Thanks for pointing me to that..err..lengthy missive,Dave  .. I've bookmarked it for later study, but suffice to say that the increase in NVH from my BHR's is pretty much in accord with what they claim on their website, and as said above,I'm happily living with it..

along with the "horrendous"(another passenger's description  ),of the drone my exhaust makes..

..and not to mention the crashingly hard ride..

..or the sub-30mph squeal from my Carbone Lorraine brake pads..

Car has character,is all ;)

You build a car for yourself, not other people ;)

I'm sure some people would hate driving mine, but as long as my smile is bigger than their frown, who cares right.

So are there any reasonably priced alternatives to oem mounts. That dampen out the vibration properly..
Early days but suspect I may want something more refined at a later date.
At least I oiled the threads so should come apart easier next time.

Believe the oem mounts are about as refined as you get, they were also revised during production, I find that the oem filled with polyurethane was a cheap and viable alternative.
