Just ordered the taillight gaskets from Essex Rotary to help stop my lights becoming fishtanks.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
I invented a new game!
Round 1 - Take out 30 fixings; can be screws, plastic clips or bolts from various places on the car. But must be from different areas.
Round 2 - Put them in a jumbled mess on my workbench.
Round 3 - Go back in a few days and see if I can figure out what goes where!
Wish me luck with Round 3. Obviously I can't drive the car until I win... as bits have fallen off. Fallen off the car, not me.

You need to hire yourself a cat to keep track of them
Might seem like a long shot, but depending on what you took out, doesn't the workshop guide or similar tell you which clips/bolt sizes? Might be dreaming here but I thought it did

No guides allowed! That would be cheating!

Then again... Those guides are awfully tempting when at ones wits' end

I've just received a set - currently waiting for one of the tail lights to dry out on the radiator before I clean and reassemble. Bit annoyed at how long it is taking, I wanted to take the car out last night

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
I think when I did mine the issue was that it's difficult for the damp warm air to escape.
Try drying as much as you can with a paper towel wrapped around a poking object then maybe leave some dry inside whilst it warms.
(just make sure you can get it back out)

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
I had considered the hairdryer but I don't find myself with a lot of time to sit there with both hands full, doing nothing, so I've had to go for the passive approach. Good idea with the paper towels and stuffing something absorbant - I'm pretty sure I have some silica sachets handy too. Been re-positioning it, fanning it occasionally to get the air moving out the holes, but aye that seems to be the issue - not enough paths for moisture to escape.

Also it's an odd year so no long hot spring like we got in 2018 & 2020. Must need a couple of years to recharge in between

Swapped out my Mazda CAT, for a Japspeed 200 CEL Sports CAT. Hopefully that might go some way towards theft prevention. Now where did I put that angle grinder.
Edit: Found it. Now for a trip to Wickes for a metal cutting disc

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Finally finished off the brake calipers on the Project PZ. The rear was an absolute pig... The piston was siezed, the sliders were porked and the carrier was rusted and swollen so the pads wouldn't slide... Yet another 5 minute job turned in to a 3 hour one! (OK, exaggerating, but still)

Basked in the glorious braps that have been bestowed upon me by changing to the R-Magic manifold on a cold start... for about a minute, then it flattens out again once warmed up a bit.
