Clean the car, polished the wheels (and discovered a possible crack in one - thread on this) and polished the exhaust tips.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Over last two afternoons...
Oil and filter change.
Plugs leads and rrp coils....
Oil far more discoloured than appeared on the dipstick.
First plug I pulled looked okay... See old and new pic.
But both the trailing ones lost the cap off the plug when I tried to pull the leads. Looks like they were corroded through. (hold my hands up and say I have no idea when they were last changed but I've had new ones about 7 months)
Old Coils didn't look bad and seem to be genuine revision c to my untrained eye.
Had bit of an issue fitting coils as couldn't get connection on them after bolting down. So had to Unbolt connect then re-bolt.
Not 100% sure the 20 x foot stomp worked as didn't get any kind of response but everything seems fine.
1St impressions are:
Seems more prone to stalling if you don't give it enough revs
Pulls better low down
Idles smother.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
I take it car would still start and run reasonably well even if the trailing ones weren't working 100%?

That's right I'd say few would really notice if they lost both Trailing plugs to be honest.

Took the VR one to the surgery for its MOT this morning
A nice pass with no advisories
And the emissions were ok
All I need to do now is source a steering U/J

Not really Chris
It has succumbed to the dreaded hot start problem. And I haven’t even done 1k in it. Had it compression tested 4’s & 5’s.
Need to get the paperwork in order to get it up to Ben
