I drove down to my parents in Monmouth, then up to Chieveley near Newbury for my dads birthday lunch. Had lunch at [urlw=http://www.crabatchieveley.com]this place[/urlw] which was amazing, then headed back. I didn't visit Haywood, as I had the missus with me, but the temptation was there.

Then I took Dads 996 911 Carrera 4 out for a spin in the sunshine. The car is insane. It's not been anywhere for a few weeks so it was a bit cold and damp, plus it's got a rotary gear position selector switch problem at the moment. This fault intermittently puts the gearbox into limp home mode (yes the gearbox itself has a limp home mode, and it's different to the engine's one). The combination of needing the cobwebs blowing out and the switch issue meant that when I put my foot down I got one of two things:

1) 0 bhp, and nothing happened at all
2) all 300 bhp, at once, and my trousers turned brown.

It certainly made for an eventful drive, especially as it occasionally changed from 0 bhp to 300 bhp half way through a corner. I was very glad of the 4WD.

Anyway, it's hilariously fun, then I drove home like a maniac. Over 100 quids worth of petrol burnt in half a day isn't bad going.

Where did you put them Chris? Any pics? Was thinking I'd put mine under the side indicator lens on both sides and the other one under the hazard lights on the dash, its a perfect fit there methinks :D

I liked you'd idea of putting it just under the hazard button but I felt it looked a bit too blended in, I wanted it to stand alone :)

Changed my cheap LED sidelights (which were more like disco lights at this point) for some 12v Cree ones. Much brighter, and much better. I did the NS without removing anything, which is a miracle, and set about the OS thinking "this'll be easy" only to drop the bulb into the light housing! F**k.

Had to remove the bumper and headlight with nothing but a 10mm spanner as all my tools are down at the garage. What a pain in the arse!

Also reminded me I need to finish my 231 headlight install. Phil, can I borrow the garage soon? :D

Had a bit of a birthday today. Oil & filter change. Intake cleaned. Full set of lockwood grills fitted (which look awsome btw!) removed/inspected cat due to a persistent p0420 fault code. Welded hole up on the exhaust. Cleaned & polished! Next on the list is to spruce up the wheels after the previous owner who couldnt park without leaving some of the paint behind! #-o gotta get myself a new set of coils too at some point soon. Just looking forward to my summer overtime, first pay check is a decat pipe and backbox :D
231 in titanium grey, special edition 10 spoke rex wheels, full lockwood grills front and back, new coils leads and plugs, toyo sports decat & de-baffled OEM backbox, full tanned and black leather interior, bright orange callipers, re-sprayed wheels, white led sidelights...........

To do: catch can, new intake & save for a rebuilt ported donk........
