Cheers pal. I ordered new engine mounts from SteveD, and posh wipers. Is it too much to hope that they'll show up tomorrow morning so i can sort them before the meet? =p

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today?????
Picked the car up after parking for 2 weeks at my son's flat whilst we were in Fuerteventura. After reading stories on here about poor starting after being left for a few days, went armed with jump leads and a friends car. Got in, turned key and she started in less than a second.
Then I went to move off, brakes had stuck a bit after all the rain and she stalled. D'oh!
Now after all the stories about flooding I really panicked. Turned the key and again she started in less than a second.
No problems after that, just happy to have her back after driving around Fuerte in a 1.2 Golf.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today?????
Today I've done this
Started work on a new phone mount. Relocated the parrot mike so it's not just stuck to the map light the oblong hole is for this...
Phone is hardwired so I can charge and play music/ satnav through stereo. The hole means I can record video while driving!! The phone is positioned in that location to allow for an iphone 4 or 5 to be used... I need to mount the case better as it's only temporarily secured with double sided tape. And tidy the area up, maybe plastidip the inside? Any thoughts would be good

Washed, clay bard, polished with auto glym super resin, 2 coats extra gloss, merguires carnaubra wax, tyre gel and auto glym plastic and rubber care on all the black trim. Took 4 hours but well worth the end result until some dirty baxxxrd spat on it tonight. Think I will invest in a camera just so I can find them next time and punish them badly :-/

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today?????
On 8th September I posted about my frustrations with the very hard water we have on Epsom Downs which after washing leaves the Rex looking like it had been parked in a chalk quarry. I bought a water barrel and special ultra fine filter and today washed and rinsed the car using only clean clear rainwater. What a difference ! Without the need to leather the car was left to dry and was spotless.

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today?????
we only ever clean are cars with rain water same sort of set as you but our barrel is 600 gallons tank the water comes off the garage block of 4 roof gutters and the house and conservatory with filters to stop any grit getting through, but the rest is for the garden and toilet flush, saves us £200.00 + a year

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today?????
More of a 'What have you done to your RX-8 yesterday????? ' really....
Loaded her up onto Bendunn's trailer and waved her goodbye, as a result of a catastrophice static bearing failure...
Cant afford to rebuild/stick new engine in, so frankly, gutted.
Am now pootling about in a wee Pug 206SW.
Not the same...

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today?????
Bought some of this stuff primarily to treat all the rubber seals on the better halfs VW Eos.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/150904024240? ... 1497.l2649
(No I can't pronounce the name !)
Then spent the afternoon applying to all the rubber seals on the drivers side of the Rex, will do the passenger side and boot next weekend. It's not til you do the job do you relise just how many seals there are on this car. How effective this treatment is remains to be seen.
