Just popped out to tesco, and could hear a clunking coming from the rear

This is on the Pz

Got back home and investigated, oh Sh*t. Good start to the new year

Luckily I have the Bilstien B12 pro kit that I salvaged from my silver 231 so can be a straight swap.

Probably just as well I didn’t get too many laps in at Mallory on Tuesday?

Are the B12 exactly the same Dave or just an easy swap ?

I’m hoping they are a straight swap Wayne, not sure of the specifications and if they differ? They were fine on my silver one so would hope to have the same outcome?

My thinking is as one has snapped so could the others soon in the future. They are 15 years old now. The B12 kit has only done about 4000 miles, and they’re currently languishing in the Garage, so might as well use them

You’ll probably get half decent cash when selling the PZ units too

I assume you're planning to install the complete B12 kit and not try and fit the B12 spring onto the PZ units.

While they're all Bilstein, I'm pretty sure the spring heights are different, so the first option is okay but the second isn't.

Don't know whether you can fetch the specs of the PZ springs, but the Bilstein B12 Pro kit has spring set from Eibach: E10-55-007-01-22

Fronts are: Eibach F11-55-007-01-VA X2
Rears are: Eibach F11-55-007-01-HA X2

Don't know if this helps at all but I still had all the model numbers and photos from my B12 set I put on my R3 a month ago :D

I think the PZ springs have a flat bottom in comparison to standard springs .
Wasn’t sure if the B12 do too

The Eibach's from the B12 are not a flat bottom. The metal mount for the spring that sits on the shock is tiered and the spring is just cut at the end - standard style springs. Fronts are the centre two and rears are the outside. Rears also have this strange plastic shroud near the top? Unsure why :-k

So I have just got in my car and my oil light has come on again, however I fixed the previous issue causing it which was a lose hose from my sohn tank.

The car has oil in both the main block and going to my adapter and as soon as I Rev the car a little the light will go away.. I have had it come on about a week ago while driving however it went after about 2 seconds.

Anyone have any ideas what it is? Dodgy sensor maybe?

Might well be a dodgy sensor. Was there a UK recall for these?

It wasn't a recall, even in the US, it was just a Service Bulletin that applied while still under warranty, though the same fault can obviously appear later. The fix is a replacement sensor part #N3H1-10-470A (the "A" being critical as the design was changed)

The price from Mazda is £82.58 + VAT for a new one  but a used one from a post-2006 car should be fine.

Aftermarket generic replacements can be found from motor factors etc and may be okay, or may pop out like a champagne cork and dump all your oil on the road - it has happened :(

Does the light only come on at idle and then go off with a very small increase in Revs and what rpm is your engine idling at!
If so you may be oil pressure and not level that is your issue.

Kind of but I wouldn’t call it a small increase in rpm more like up to about 3.5/4K and then it will go away. Came back on when driving and the went away again after I left home.

If i were you,i would stop driving it straight away until you have eliminated the problem. The fact that the light only goes off at pretty high rpm could be a bit more serious than a dodgy sensor,i think i would like to know quickly.
I also think that having the same light receiving 2 signals is a bad idea,i would much rather rely on a visual inspection of levels.
I do hope you get this sorted, and that it is nothing serious.

Had a quick look and turns out Chris was right and I had a bit of an oil leak which I assume is causing low pressure. Will have to have a look at it on Monday and try to sort it as I have work for the next two evenings

If your oil level is correct ,then i don't think a small leak would affect oil pressure,i personally think that this is too important an issue to continue driving it until it's sorted, for your own peace of mind, good luck, rob.

In normal use low oil pressure is quite rare, have you changed the oil filter recently as it could be a dodge filter restricting the flow.

More importantly
Check the fittings on your sandwich plate
Didn’t you have a gauge problem a few days ago ?

I have put in a new filter as well as a sandwich plate where the I’m pretty sure the current leak is coming from one of the sensor fittings (And yes I did use Teflon tape before anyone asks Image).

I will take it all to bits on Monday and see if anything seems off and if not then I will try a replacement filter as the one I replaced it with was a k&n filter which are known to be commonly faked.
