I mean I normally just fill mine up with Tesco momentum because it’s on my way to work and works out the same cost as any other 95 octane near me, and then run a tank of v power through it every month when I’m back at home for the sake of it’s the closest station to my house and it’s probably a good idea to use fuel with additives in.

I too use tesco momentum. Just because when I premix I feel the octane rating gets effected very slightly. The one time I did use non premium fuel the car didn't quite feel right. Possibly placebo but I don't mind the expense (which is now considerably cheaper than it was when I got the car a year ago!)

Just drove the car to the garage that's doing the work for me. Battery was a bit low due to the cold (I think) and not being driven since last week. Checked battery on arrival was up at 13v so all good.

I think the transducer switch has gone. As light use of the brakes doesn't cause the abs light to come on. But hard presses do. Mentioned to the guy to check over the abs sensors/premot if he can manage it. So here's hoping for goodish news.

That's probably not a bad plan. The shell station is closest to me, and it's got 95 fuelsave and 99 vpower, so I might just go 95 regular as it's not expensive, and just occasionally get 99 maybe :-k

It passed its MOT earlier today and I have both a cat and the decat as the previous owner ran it on the de, but I think I'm going to leave the cat on and either just lightly premix or none. Got to go and see rotary revs soon though, so I'll be ringing up and booking some time in with them to look at it and probably pick their brains a fair bit too! Been a joy to drive so far, and of course took it to McDonald's on the way home hah! :D

Hope it's an easy fix for 'em Yorindesarin!

Despite what you might read elsewhere, there's no issue at all using premix with a cat.
Choose a low-ash 2T oil and you'll be fine @150ml/tank on the road or up to 300ml/tank for the track.

That's a useful bit of info, to be honest, there is a fair bit of talk about premix clogging cats etc, so I guess that did scare a bit! :^o
I inherited two bottles of idemitsu racing premix along with a 5L of 10w40 miller's that are still in the boot from the previous chap, so I might give that a whirl as I've already got a hold of it! Also, thanks for the edit on the photo^ :D I'll have to look at how to do that

Ah apologies for the confusion - i was meaning rotary revs up in Batley/Wakefield rather than Essex rotary ;) 8) it's close enough and they did the engine rebuild on it too from the previous owner

I also use momentum - premixing lowers the octane ever so slightly and these are hot running engines. Besides, US octane ratings are a different system (MON vs RON), so US 95 is lower than UK 95 IIRC.

Can't win with my car I swear. Dropped the spare key with the car. Today get a message saying no relay click, starter click or dash lights dim when trying to start.. Sounds immobilizer like to me?

Guess my spare key doesn't started the car currently... Dangit.

Given that you've had battery and other electrical issues lately isn't that more likely?

If the car was unlocked when you dropped it off, is the key then not enough to start it/cut off the immobiliser? Aren't the keys the same? Doesn't make sense to me.

That would be the Valet key.

The one used for valet parking, doesn't open boot or glovebox

Seeing as the car fired up perfectly fine yesterday with my main key... The fact the battery is fully charged still and perfectly fine.. The keys are the same Im pretty sure Ive only ever used the spare a couple of times a year ago. I could be mistaken though. Since the car drove there happily with all the electrics working perfectly... For it to suddenly develope another electric fault just with a different key seems odd.. Logically trying the main key should see if anything happens.

This is also why there's a remote boot release lockout button hidden inside the glovebox.

These are my keys. Just to verify for everyone, is the valet key the non-radio one on the right? The two radio keys appear identical and the key cut on the right key is very slightly different to the other two.

On the earlier cars, with separate radio fobs, the proper keys have black plastic but the valet is grey.
