When I eventually get a COFS tank of some description I will be fitting a "low level" sensor to the OEM oil sensor wiring. I know theres a thing on here about it somewhere. Just seems like a good idea. :p

I have a sight tube on my 2L Sohn tank and the 2T I use is dark enough to see the level
P8251748.jpg
or rather it was when I first fitted the tank 7 years ago.

The oil hasn't got any lighter but the tube has been stained darker, by the oil, so it's not nearly so easy to tell the level in the tube.

I just top-up every other fuel tank refilled, or before and after, taking on track.

Not the ideal shape for a 2T tank for track applications IMO being so flat, do you not find if the tank is not completely full you're getting air bubbles within the mix?

Nothing..... waiting for some 20mm wheel spaces to arrive, should be here tomorrow, 👍
2 bolts sheared off one of the rears yesterday luckily at low speed and around the corner from home.
Serves me right for not paying enough in the first place!!!!! Now ordered some from Eibach.

While the bulk of the tank is flat, which means that the oil level is as high as possible within the engine bay, for gravity feed, there's a ½ litre sump that ensures that no air can be drawn in, no matter how hard you corner. The outflow is centred under the sump.
P7191706.jpg
It's possible that, if there was only ½ litre of oil left in the tank, that it could starve under prolonged heavy braking, which is why I don't let it get that low, and the OMP demand on the over-run is tiny anyway. The sump is towards the back of the tank to favour OMP demand under acceleration.

Well I had my cat pipe re-welded as some scum tried to make off with it... :(
Luckily they prob got spooked or interrupted, but they managed to cut it all the way through after the manifold and started cutting at the other end. Unbelieveably p*ed off...Does anyone know if the alarm should come off if the car is jacked up? I parked now right under my window but not sure if the alarm would sound. Also, does anyone know of an anti-theft device that fits the RX8? In the meantime looking for a garage to rent...And probably a decat pipe in case this goes missing even though I did not want to decat.
Makes me wish this was reality...

Nope. Some car alarms will but not the RX8. Yeah put a cheap decat on there and save your cat, so if it happens again at least they won't get the valuable bit.

At least they were interrupted and the damage wasn't terminal. Appreciate that may be small comfort. Garage is the best option, hope you find one.

There’s an old fracture on the bottom one
Do you torque them to the correct setting
Or just tighten them up F/T if so that’s probably the reason

Whoa! What torque are you tightening to?

I've had Eibach spacers on for years and that has never happened. I change wheels frequently - track tyres wear out often and I change road, wet, semi-slick to suit planned use. Typically I torque to 110-115 Nm.

Another thought, where did you source the spacers? Are you certain they are genuine?

Yes lads torque to your wheel nuts

Even 115 nm may seem to most heavy handed oafs to be lose but that’s all you need.
Otherwise you keep stretching the stud every time you change a wheel.

Ah, the ambiguous text in your post, together with a broken spacer next to the Eibach box implied to me that both bolts on the NEW spacers "broke at the same point" as the breaks in the OLD spacers, i.e. problem repeated on new spacers.

I now read your post how you intended it to be read

Hopefully no issues with the Eibachs. Mine have had a tough life on track and still survive :thumleft:

A set of new studs would perhaps have been a lower cost and just effective solution, but hey ho Eibachs will be fit and forget.
