Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Not technically done to the car but as rain has stopped the patio grouting and work on the car I started on a garage tidy up.
Some time ago I alubrited all the nuts, bolts, screws and washers in my “save the day” bucket but never sorted them all out, but I have now.
What is scary is the thought regarding why, if I have accumulated all these, are there not bits falling off the car?

I fear every time I look in my "spare" bolts bin that something will just fall off the car one day. Some I remember and I know are spares but some I have no idea where they came from.ChrisHolmes wrote:Not technically done to the car but as rain has stopped the patio grouting and work on the car I started on a garage tidy up.

I created a Nut/bolt box when l started in the Army at 17 which traveled the world with me it’s true a large AMMO TIN now some 40+ years later it would take two just to lift the bugger so it’s been decanted into three tins 2 x 7.62 ammo tins and an old type 2lb quality street tin and a good 25% is off old RX~8 parts

Re: What have you done to your RX-8 today????
Busy day today.
Finally got the passenger side rear coilover out. Bit of pain that has been! Can now get both of the PZ ones built up sometime next week hopefully.
Front and rear ARB's are off. Now waiting for the RB ones to arrive. Thanks Clive Could be a wait due to this Covid thing.
Removed the oil cooler lines. Waiting for some heat shrink to arrive so I can cover the braid before fitting the new ones.
Removed the D585's.
Removed the radiator to make ARB's and oil lines easier to remove. New Mishimoto on order along with some blue hoses.
Discovered the 2 stroke oil tank has been leaking. So what I thought was the oil lines leaking was actually the sight tube on the oil tank. Anyone know what that clear plastic tube is and the fitting sizes?
The cross member that holds the battery & air box is completely rotten in one area. This will need patching or replacing. Engine mounts have also been added to the required list. And there was me thinking I was going to make the list shorter.
