Curious, that's a totally different design to my set of Racing Brake BBK Calipers :-k

Mine have two slide pins and a very simple spring design.

This shows the pins, but I can't find a pic of the spring. I've not seen your RB BBK single pin design on an RX-8 before, and I've seen 4-5 sets at least :?

:-k Could they have changed the design because the springs kept breaking?

 More likely they changed the source for the product.

It’s a currently supplied product but not specified by them for the RX8. It is the only set of that design that Clive has supplied.
I confirmed£ this when I was at Racing Brake in LA collecting the Spring and seals.
If they cannot ship one economically then I will ask Dean Eggink to drop by and pick two up to post to me.

Are those springs the two part ones held by a rivet?

Nope, it’s a large one piece item and it just cannot come out as it is, hence my theory it fatigues and breaks under the central retaining pin.
Looks like the ones i bought from Ranjan

^^ That caliper is the same as my RB one, and like the other 4-5 sets I've seen on other cars.

You're going to have clean the rest of the engine bay now to match the bar bling.

I just received a reply from Racing Brake in LA and they can supply the pad retainers for $18 a piece. Think I might order two given my past experience and Ranjans comment regarding this being a known issue in the past.
