There are two different accelerator pedals. One with a Ali footplate on it and one without.
I believe the one without was fitted to 192's
I have had both versions on my car (231) and there was no difference in operation.
I swapped them trying to sort another problem.

Fitted the RRP CAT yesterday, think I need shorter springs/longer bolts, the springs are very compressed and it was not easy to get it done up!

Aside from that, doesn't sound like its blowing or anything, bit more noise and then collected £500 from a chap buying used CATs on the way home from work which pretty much paid for the new bits :)

Krown rust treatment on Saturday as well, all go for the RX8 this week.

The springs are generally too long in the fitting kits and just ground a section off with an angle grinder.

I'm still on the line between MPS4 and Bridgestone S001's when I get my tyres done ( How long have I been talking about this ??!! ).

I've the MP4S's on the CX-5, the SUV version, and I see what you mean about it being a softer tyre and better in the wet. But then the Bridgestone's give that instant reaction which when you get a nice day and a tight corner it brings a grin to my face, to go swoosh swoosh and be through the corner like it's not even there...

A non-Mazda one I meant to say. Unless there are no Mazda markings on them, in which case it may well be genuine!

Either way, it works fine now, so diff mounts are my next culprit. Feels like the wheels are connected to the engine by a rubber band!

V-Rex I've just had the bridgestone SOO1 fitted to the front of my rex, (yokohama advans on the rear) driving upto North Wales yesterday they handled faultlessly, fairly cold out there at 4°c with a bit of damp here and there.
Only negative from my point of view is purely aesthetic with the side walls being slightly rounded as opposed to square with a rim protector (original bridgestone had these I believe but that was a long time ago when I first got the car)

For me, the MPS4 the best daily driver summer tyre out there. Rather than excelling in one area, it's consistently good across a very wide range of conditions. It's comfortable, quiet and predictable even around freezing, yet still provides enough feel to have fun on the twisty bits though it'll not be the fastest tyre on that hot sunny day.

The big let down is the MPS4S. I can see what they tried to do combining MPSS like grip levels with a supple MPS4 like carcass, it may mean that on uneven surfaces it grips harder but it doesn't work for me. I don't feel like I can exploit the tyre fully as it's not giving enough feedback due to the flexible nature. Honestly, I'd be looking at the value performance tyres from Hankook, Kumo, et al for a weekend fun tyre.

Both - if I give it plenty of revs and I'm easy on the clutch, it will be smooth to pull off, but after that you feel it on every change, as well as when your coming on and off the power in gear, and sometimes when going over speed bumps the back end feels like it skips over if any throttle is being applied (i.e. going up hill). The lower the gear, the worse it is, ans it's worse still at low rpm. You can feel like a nodding dog as the car bobs three or four times before smoothing out, but accelerating all the while, and then again if I lift off quickly you get a couple of bobs too. And it's irrelevant to what position I push the throttle, only how firmly I push the pedal effects it.

I initially thought it was engine related as it has a new throttle body just before I bought it to fix an idling issue, and I've found the new throttle pedal too, but since driving it a bit more the engine response is there and it runs great (much better than my last 8 ), it definitely feels like it's in the drive line somewhere. Another way to explain it is that it's like the driveshaft is made of rubber, and is loading up as torque is applied quickly, then relaxing and rebounding. If it's dry tomorrow I'll get it jacked up and see what I can see...

The powertrain had three mounts. The engine mounts either side, that get all the headlines, plus the gearbox mount.

If the gearbox mount were to fail, or got soft, then you'd get the symptoms you describe.

Does the gear change lever shake when the car shudders?

I've read all about the engine mounts as thier failure is so widely documented, and read that the differential mounts can sometimes cause grief, but never anything about the gearbox mount so didn't even consider it if I'm honest (wasn't even sure there was one, as I haven't had chance to have a proper look yet!).

It does move to the rythm of the jerk, yes. I presume worn engine mounts would exasperate the issue too? As they were my first suspect, but on inspection are old but in tact.

This sounds to me more like the engine is misfiring if you are getting the symptom on and off the throttle. i think you need to check out everything that is involved in ignition and fuelling. Especially as another throttle body was fitted to "cure" and idling issue.
A diagnostics session may be your most expedient way to a solution.

Thanks Chris. I intend to go through the ignition system anyway regardless as it's on "the list". I don't think she's missing, I'd have thought you'd normally hear/feel the engine stumble, but in fact it's very smooth, not a harsh feeling at all. I haven't ruled it out though as it may well be contributing to the effect.
