Heated screen was the only good thing about the focus I used to own!

it would struggle to go up hills with the aircon on!

Went and took the dehumidifiers out of the car to recharge them today. Not sure if I've done it right though. Also went to roll the car forward and I think the brakes are seized on all round all ready. Bugger.

If you washed the car just before parking up then don't be surprised if the surface rust on the discs has stuck the pads.

Want seems like "seized" when trying to push by hand will be no more than a loud bang as you drive away and they free off, come the spring

Haven't given it its winter wash yet Dave think its just the general Scottish weather. Its been quite wet. The discs/callipers etc are all coming off at some point to be replaced anyway. I have a spare set of callipers that just need a clean up from brake dust that have pretty good slide pins in them right now so Ill probably regrease them when I put them on. Where as my current callipers need a proper refurbishment.

So Im not really too bothered its just a bit of a pain for trying to avoid tyre flat spots.

Went for a planned 5 hours drive for the Cotswold Allsorts group but finished up cutting it short due to fog and snails pace drivers. Good lunch and banter though as usual.

Yorin,do you park on level private ground? you could just chock the wheels in gear and leave hand brake off.

I do indeed park on private land Rob. The handbrake was left off its just the discs have rusted enough to contact the pads. Like Dave said it'll probably pop off if I drive the car forward a bit. I may just chuck it on the 4 jack stands I have. Was waiting to put it up on them after I had the shed built but I don't want to leave my tyres to get flat spots since they are literally brand new.

Put a few extra psi in the tyres to avoid flat spots.

Avoid putting the car on axle stands as that would extend the suspension, which puts lots if strain on the rubber bushes and exposes more of the damper rods, that could get rusty and rip the seals.

Dropped my track car off with Scott Ryan who will hopefully fix the leaky exhaust manifold and intake port.
Bit of an eventful day as the battery was completely flat when I went to start it despite having a solar battery tender fitted.
Used my battery booster but still not enough with a completely dead battery so left it on charge for a few hours and it then started.
The journey there was difficult as I had no tickover and the roads felt very greasy especially with Federal 595’s on.
Anyway now dropped off and hopefully will be sorted soon.

Just had a thought.. If I were to put the car on stands and prop the control arms to a somewhat natural position that would be fine for everything, right? Just thinking as I do intend at some point for the car to be on stands for a bit as I redo the brake system/exhaust over a few weeks.

Put the stands under the hubs, but be careful as you lower the car that they don’t move

Ill probably just blow the tyres up for now. And maybe once the piece of concrete Im going to put the shed on is cleared Ill put it on stands under the hubs since that is obviously more level ground and not just stone. Currently I feel trying to find a levelish piece of ground and putting wood under the stands would be not ideal when I don't want anything to shift.

Don't worry about the tyres, they always recover after a few miles of driving. I had mine standing for about eight months and they loosened up by a few streets away.

Trying to rest the sprung components on axle stands is not super ideal

If your weather has been anything like here there hasn't been daylight for about 3 weeks!

(Or it could be like others have reported and their solar charger has failed and discharged the battery)

Yesterday - oil & filter service; air filter & cabin filter; new front & rear droplinks; coolant flush & renew; (unexpected) replacement of Toyo cat-back as it had split at Y junction.

Super-service from The Performance Shop (as always).

Today - wash, rinse, detail & drive.

Wish I had done droplinks sooner, talk about sharpen up the handling!

Ahh yeah surprised you only got a "sort it out" with that. Out of curiosity I presume its smaller than the minimum required spec for a rectangular plate?
