What goes around comes around trying to blag a replacement will ultimately put the blame on the tech who did the job even if they noticed it beforehand so even with them working for Mazda main dealer it's still not the nicest thing to do. Could call robin hood steel from the rich Mazda main dealer but still going to blame the tech at the end of the day lol karma bitches

They'll be unprotected from salt, gunk and other stuff. But technically no you don't have to have them.

Any Mazda dealer will be able to have them in next working day if they don't already have them in stock.

Or you can use similar ones described in the group buy thread that just need a bit of cutting. Available cheap from eBay. (can't post the link right now)

Or you can reuse the ones on there if they're fine, but you won't know until the old suspension comes off.

Someone was looking for some suspension gaiters a while back and at the time it was a "not a single one in Europe" kind of case if memory serves right.

I would recommend some silicon spray on the damper rod to give it some temporary protection.

Silicon grease would work but it would also make the grit stick, rather than shrug it off.

'twas me that found out there's no dust boots in chain! Or at least was told that by someone in front of a computer over the phone. That is indeed the correct P/N

I got a pair of boots recently from Tim at RX Motors in Salisbury for £40, can't guarantee he's still got them but if you contact him, he does, and you need someone to pick up from him and start the member delivery chain, give us a shout...

Had a job that I had been putting off. Previous owner had snapped all of the battery tray mounts and tried to use self tappers to bodge it on the bottom which introduced rot which had got too bad.

Nice friend of mine cut the bad out and welded in a new section along with a captive but to bolt back down to, drilled out the two side sheared bolts and welded new in. Now the battery stays in its place! (Also got a new battery)

Spent the rest of the afternoon replacing the oil and coolant. Very hot and bothered now so going to have a nice few beers! Can't wait for Donnington park next weekend woohooImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImageImage

Changed the coolant and the brake fluid.

More money saved, new skills learned and garage created problems avoided!
